## Summary
- Preserve the converter-first workflow and clarify when to inspect the
source notebook.
- Add guidance for PEP 723 metadata, installation cleanup, cell
arrangement, magic commands, interactive input, secrets, and reactive
execution.
- Keep UI and execution controls proportional to the notebook’s purpose.
- Strengthen validation with repeated `marimo check`, runtime testing,
side-by-side review, and generated-file inspection.
## Why
The existing skill covered the initial mechanical conversion but
provided limited guidance for reviewing and refining the generated
notebook. These updates capture general practices learned from real
conversions without prescribing a particular notebook structure.
## Validation
- Ran the skill validator successfully.
- Ran Git whitespace checks.
Updates the wasm-compatibility skill to account for:
- the new wasm compatible lint rules
- the threading/ multiprocessing compatibility adapters
- and caching for wasm
Ran a skill-creator evaluation to show the new skill correctly captures
edge-cases the old one missed.

## Summary
Adds four new reference files to the `marimo-notebook` skill covering
topics not currently documented:
- **WATCHING.md** — `--watch` flag for external editing,
`watcher_on_save` config, module autoreloading, and the common gotcha
where marimo overwrites external edits from other editors/agents
- **EXPENSIVE.md** — `mo.stop`, `mo.cache`, `mo.persistent_cache`,
`mo.lazy`, run buttons for gating expensive operations, and memory
management patterns
- **CONFIGURATION.md** — `pyproject.toml` settings, `marimo.toml` user
config, config priority chain, and useful `marimo config` commands
- **REACTIVITY.md** — DAG model, variable uniqueness rule, mutation
limitations, cell-local variables with `_` prefix, cell disabling, and
lazy evaluation
Also updates SKILL.md to link these new references in the "Additional
resources" section.
## Motivation
While using marimo with an external AI coding agent (Claude Code), we
ran into the watch mode issue multiple times — the agent would edit the
`.py` file, but marimo's in-memory state would overwrite those changes
on the next cell save. The existing skill doesn't mention `--watch` or
this behavior. The other reference files cover frequently needed topics
(caching expensive operations, configuration, understanding reactivity)
that complement the existing references.

Our original skill to implement a paper assumes that you're gonna do
that together with a user. However, we're also interested in fully
automating this process to the extent that's possible.
Hence, a new skill is added.
Add best practice guidance for scoping external file paths to the project directory when using pathlib for _esm/_css files, preventing accidental reads of sensitive system files.

Add the implement-paper skill to turn research papers into interactive marimo notebooks, with a 4-step workflow: understand user needs, fetch the paper, plan the notebook structure, and build using marimo conventions.
To avoid duplication, implement a sync system where anywidget content is copied to dependent skills (marimo-notebook and implement-paper) via 'make sync'. Add CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md to document the shared reference pattern.

Compact the tables in `widgets.md` and `latex.md` to minimal separators,
reducing diff noise when editing rows. Markdown renderers handle
alignment regardless of padding.
* Add deployment reference for marimo notebooks
Document marimo run, export thumbnail, and export session commands for single notebooks and folders. Include sandbox flag, thumbnail generation, and molab session export with PEP 723 metadata options.

* Document forms in marimo UI reference
Add examples of .batch().form() pattern for composing multiple UI elements into a single form with submit button, and .form(validate=...) pattern for adding validation to forms.

Jupyter uses MathJax while marimo uses KaTeX, and the syntax differences
are a common stumbling block when converting notebooks. This adds a
`references/latex.md` with a replacement table, migration checklist, and
links to the KaTeX docs, then points to it from the main skill file so
the agent consults it when a notebook contains LaTeX.
* skill: wasm-compatibility
This skill provides guidance on whether a notebook is compatible with
WASM. This can be helpful when deciding whether to use a /wasm
preview on molab.
* snapshot date for packages
* recommend pep 723 metadata
