Roll back only the default/recommendation change from the previous commit while
keeping all the regenerated @contentful/optimization documentation. The default
SDK stays @ninetailed/experience.js; the new SDK will be made the default in a
separate change later.
- onboard.ts: default sdkChoice back to 'ninetailed'; recommend/confirm copy
reads "current default" (ninetailed) vs "modern" (optimization).
- sdk-selection.md: restore "Use @ninetailed/experience.js by default" stance and
current/modern positioning, keeping the accurate optimization API details and
the pre-release/alpha caveat.
- Reference docs (package-versions, analytics-and-preview, env-var-spec,
readiness-criteria, implementation-examples, provider-patterns, framework-notes,
how-personalization-works, common-errors, sdk-next-guide): relabel
"recommended/legacy" framing to "current default" vs "modern" so nothing
contradicts the @ninetailed default. All new optimization content retained.
- skill.ts: topic labels back to current/modern framing.
The install-packages mapping and tests are unchanged: they describe how to
install the optimization SDK when chosen, which remains valid.

Regenerate the optimization SDK documentation in the contentful-personalization
skill to match the shipped @contentful/optimization API, and swap the default
recommendation from @ninetailed/experience.js to @contentful/optimization.
Ninetailed is kept as a documented legacy fallback for existing projects.
Docs:
- Rewrite sdk-next-guide.md to the shipped API: OptimizationRoot-first, correct
useOptimization() (instance) vs useOptimizationActions(), state hooks, router
subpath adapters, the @contentful/optimization-nextjs adapter, object consent.
- Rewrite package-versions.md and sdk-selection.md to lead with optimization
(with a pre-release/alpha caveat); ninetailed demoted to a legacy section.
- Make provider-patterns, analytics-and-preview, env-var-spec, readiness-criteria,
and implementation-examples optimization-first; lighter touches elsewhere.
Code:
- onboard.ts: default sdkChoice -> 'optimization'; reorder recommend/confirm copy.
- install-packages.ts: rewrite the optimization branch to match upstream guidance
(Next.js -> optimization-nextjs; React -> react-web [+node]; other -> web/node,
not core). check-packages.ts: detection parity. skill.ts: topic labels.
- skill.test.ts: update + add derivation tests.

BREAKING CHANGE: plugin renamed from contentful-skills to contentful.
Existing users must reinstall as contentful@contentful.
- Rename plugin name in both Claude and Cursor manifests
- Update Cursor marketplace top-level name to match Claude
- Update all SKILL.md allowed-tools: mcp__plugin_contentful-skills_*
becomes mcp__plugin_contentful_*
- Add $schema to Claude manifests for editor autocomplete
(Cursor has no published schema URL)
- Add category, keywords, tags to marketplace plugin entries
for discoverability
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add contentful-api row, section, and badge bump to README
- Update contentful-guide description and routing rules to mention
contentful-api, and add a dedicated routing block in
references/skill-routing.md
- Rename skills/contentful-rest -> skills/contentful-api to match frontmatter name
- Add package.json with repo conventions (@contentful/skill-contentful-api)
- Register in .claude-plugin/marketplace.json
The marketplace name in .claude-plugin/marketplace.json is `contentful`,
so the install command should be `contentful-skills@contentful` rather
than `contentful-skills@contentful-skills`.
