f41f866aa1 Fix(parser): keep real line breaks when merging HTML fragments and PDF boxes (#17856)
Net effect: inline prose stays on one line (`Hello World`), real `<br>` boundaries survive (including before tags and repeated breaks), and source formatting whitespace no longer over-splits.

## Summary

Fixes a regression introduced by #17203 (strict-cap atom-split) and a
secondary delimiter-handling bug from #17723.

**Root cause:**
- #17203 added `_split_oversized_unit` / `_compute_chunk_update`, which
split oversize units into ≤ token_size pieces. This collapsed
`token_size=1` into 1-token chunks and set the cap at 512, mismatching
the model-layer truncation boundary (embedding ~8191 / rerank
500/4096/8192/2048). Atom-split is unnecessary: oversize units stay
whole and the model layer truncates.
- #17723's delimiter handling dropped consecutive delimiters (`A####B`
-> `A##B`), glued JSON items with `"".join`, ignored
`children_delimiters`, and stripped whitespace delimiters.

## Changes

- New pure helper `merge_paragraphs(paragraphs, token_size, strategy)`
with a `MergeStrategy` enum (`UNDER_CAP` / `OVER_CAP`); **default
`OVER_CAP`**. `UNDER_CAP` is a strict cap (never overflows
`token_size`); `OVER_CAP` greedily accumulates adjacent paragraphs while
the projected total stays within `token_size`, merging one
boundary-overflow paragraph before closing. Oversize paragraphs stand
alone.
- `naive_merge` / `naive_merge_with_images` /
`RAGFlowTxtParser.parser_txt` now use `merge_paragraphs`; atom-split
removed. `naive_merge` / `naive_merge_with_images` always split a
section on the delimiter whenever one is present (even when the section
already fits `token_size`), so delimiter text never leaks into a chunk.
Only the empty-delimiter (size-only) mode skips splitting.
- `token_chunker`: delimiter text is dropped (not stripped); JSON flush
joins buffered items with `"\n"`; `children_delimiters` and
`PDF_POSITIONS_KEY` are preserved on the delimiter path. PDF positions
are now attributed **per segment** — each split chunk carries only the
positions of the item(s) that contributed to it — fixing a leak where
page-N coordinates were attached to page-M chunks and all segments
shared one preview image.
- `test_txt_parser.py` rewritten to assert the new contract (not the old
strict cap); `naive_merge` and delimiter-case-sensitive matrices
updated.

## Contract (refs #17799)

- user specified delimiter = chunk boundary; user specified delimiter
text never enters a chunk.
- `token_size` = soft target + merge strategy; no atom-split.
- Default strategy = `OVER_CAP`; migration can switch to `UNDER_CAP`
(strict cap).
- `OVER_CAP` has no hard cap; the model layer truncates oversize units.
`UNDER_CAP` enforces a strict cap.

## Notes

- Closes the wrong-object revert in #17774 (revert #17723 would
re-introduce delimiter-in-chunk and the strict cap).
- Go-side alignment (`internal/ingestion/component/chunker/token.go`) is
a follow-up PR.

## Summary

Six sites used to read the same `parser_config.delimiter` field with
divergent grammars:

- `rag.nlp.get_delimiters` (PDF/DOCX/HTML/EPUB/JSON/CSV/XLSX/email/book)
- `rag.nlp.naive_merge` (custom-delimiter branch)
- `rag.nlp.naive_merge_with_images`
- `rag.nlp._build_cks`
- `deepdoc.parser.txt_parser.parser_txt` (.txt, code)
-
`deepdoc.parser.markdown_parser.MarkdownElementExtractor.get_delimiters`

The six implementations disagreed on bare-vs-wrapped chars, dedupe, sort
order, CRLF normalization, and `re.I` (#17384). The shipped default ``
`\n!?;。;!?` `` was a no-op for `.md` because the markdown path only
matched backtick-wrapped tokens.

## Changes

- **new:** `rag/nlp/delim.py` with `parse_delimiter_field` and
`compile_delimiter_pattern`. Single source of truth. CRLF normalization
at the top; longest-first stable sort; insertion-ordered dedupe; no
`re.I`.
- **refactor:** all six call sites delegate to the helper.
  - `rag/nlp/__init__.py::get_delimiters` becomes a thin shim.
- `deepdoc/parser/txt_parser.py::parser_txt` drops the
`[encode/decode/unicode_escape]` round-trip.
- `deepdoc/parser/markdown_parser.py::get_delimiters` honors bare chars
(fixes [1]).
- **tests:** `test/unit_test/rag/test_delim.py` (85 tests) — helper,
acceptance table, frontend parity, static guard against re-inlining.
- **tests:** `test/unit_test/rag/test_delimiter_case_sensitive.py` (from
#17386) updated to retarget the static check at the new helper +
AST-based broader scan.

## Acceptance criteria

- All six sites produce the same regex pattern for the same input.
- Shipped default keeps working for `.txt` / `.pdf` / `.docx`.
- Shipped default for `.md` now splits (was a silent no-op).
- Tooltip example `` `\n##;` `` produces three effective delimiters
regardless of file type.
- Bare whitespace inputs split on every occurrence.
- Backtick-wrapped whitespace splits only on the exact N-char sequence.
- CRLF-line-ending documents split identically to LF-line-ending
documents.
- 123 tests pass (85 new + 38 existing).

## Rebase protocol

As #17385 and #17386 evolve, this branch will be rebased on top. The
only overlap between this PR's diff and the other two is
`test_delimiter_case_sensitive.py`, where #17383 modifies the static
check to point at the new helper location.

deb3d0c201 fix(chunker): enforce strict chunk_token_num cap on .txt / PDF / email paths (#17203)
Fixes #17202 (and complements #12109).

## Problem

`RAGFlowTxtParser.parser_txt` (`deepdoc/parser/txt_parser.py:36-47`) and
`rag.nlp.naive_merge` (`rag/nlp/__init__.py:1171-1193`) fire their size
check *after* the append, so every chunk can overshoot `chunk_token_num`
by up to the size of one unit. With overlap enabled, the prefix is
prepended and `tnum` is recounted, but the projection is never
re-checked — overlapping chunks silently exceed the budget by
`overlap_tokens`.

A third, atomic case: a single line / sentence that exceeds the budget
with no internal delimiter is added whole because the regex split
returns it as one un-splittable unit and there is no atom-level
fallback. `RAGFlowHtmlParser.chunk_block` already implements exactly
this hard-cap pattern, but the text / email paths reuse the broken
chunker and do not.

Measured on a live dataset (336 `.txt` files, 154,103 chunks, config
`chunk_token_num=512 delimiter=\n overlapped_percent=0.1`): 56.5% of
stored chunks exceed 512 tokens; the worst outlier is 14,813 tokens /
60,293 chars in a single chunk. Symptom downstream: rerank failures on
the >2048-token outliers (ref. #12109) and silent embedding truncation
on every oversize chunk.

## Fix

Mirror the proven pattern in `RAGFlowHtmlParser.chunk_block`:

1. **Proactive projected-total check** in `TxtParser.parser_txt` and in
`naive_merge.add_chunk`:
   ```python

The check uses the *projected* total and runs *before* the append, so
the cap is exact, never approached-then-exceeded.

2. **Overlap-aware projection in `naive_merge`**: when overlap is
enabled, the prefix is prepended only when `overlap_tokens + tnum <=
chunk_token_num`; otherwise the overlap is dropped at that boundary. The
naive_merge-with-images mirror gets the same treatment. Custom-delimiter
behaviour is preserved per the existing test suite.

3. **Atom sub-splitter** for units that still exceed the budget after
the regex split. Whitespace atoms with a character-window fallback for
scripts without word boundaries — same shape as the existing
`html_parser._split_oversized_block`, so behaviour matches for HTML vs
`.txt` vs PDF atomic-oversize.

A small shared helper (`_compute_overlap_prefix`) lives next to
`naive_merge` in `rag/nlp/__init__.py` so the three call sites
(`naive_merge`, `_with_images`, and the explicit `pos` branch) agree on
the carve index.

## Result on the dataset above

## Tests

- Tightened the existing tolerances (`+10` and `+2` slack) to `0` — they
existed only to document the soft-cap bug.
- Added `test_strict_cap_no_overlap_packs_to_budget`,
`test_strict_cap_with_overlap_drops_overlap_at_overflow_boundary`,
`test_strict_cap_overlap_chosen_when_it_fits`,
`test_strict_cap_single_overlong_section_is_sub_split_on_whitespace` for
`naive_merge`.
- Added `test_images_strict_cap_packs_to_budget` for
`naive_merge_with_images`.
- New `test/unit_test/deepdoc/parser/test_txt_parser.py` covers
`parser_txt` strict cap and atom sub-split. Uses the same path-loading
pattern as the existing `test_html_parser.py` to avoid pulling the deep
import chain into a test-time-only venv.

All 22 unit tests pass on the host venv:

`ruff check` and `ruff format --check` are clean on all four changed
files.

## Out of scope

- `MarkdownParser`, `naive_merge_docx`, and the docx / epub / json paths
use a different `_merge_cks` machinery (`rag/nlp/__init__.py:1574`) that
already enforces the budget. They are unchanged.
- The `chunk_block` call sites in `deepdoc/parser/html_parser.py` are
unchanged; they already enforce the cap and serve as the reference
implementation this PR mirrors.

Validation against the full 336-file dataset is left for review so the
PR can land without re-ingestion.

776b9371f7 fix(nlp): drop dead re.I from delimiter finditer calls (#17386)
Closes #17384.

## Summary

Drops a dead `re.I` flag from two outlier delimiter-parsing sites and
adds regression tests so the inconsistency can't creep back.

## What's wrong

Two of the six delimiter-parsing implementations pass `re.I` to
`re.finditer`:

- `rag/nlp/__init__.py::get_delimiters` (line 1633)
- `deepdoc/parser/txt_parser.py::parser_txt` (line 51)

The other four implementations correctly omit `re.I`:

- `rag/nlp/__init__.py::naive_merge` custom-delimiter path (line 1195)
- `rag/nlp/__init__.py::naive_merge_with_images` custom-delimiter path
(line 1269)
- `rag/nlp/__init__.py::_build_cks` (line 1389)
- `rag/flow/chunker/token_chunker.py` (line 73)

## Why this matters (and why it doesn't break anything)

The flag is **dead code** today. Verified empirically with a Python
REPL:

`re.I` does not propagate from `re.finditer` to `m.group(1)` or to
downstream `re.split` / `re.match` calls (which all omit `re.I`). So the
actual splitting behavior has always been case-sensitive — removing the
flag is a **defensive cleanup**, not a behavioral fix.

So why bother?

1. **Consistency** — the two sites were the only outliers in a six-way
implementation cluster. The three sibling sites in `rag/nlp/__init__.py`
already omit `re.I`, which strongly suggests the flag was accidental.
2. **Future-proofing** — a refactor could easily propagate the flag to a
downstream `re.split` call where it *would* change behavior. The tests
added here pin the case-sensitive semantics so that regression fails
loudly.
3. **Reader clarity** — the flag is misleading. Anyone reading
`re.finditer(..., re.I)` reasonably assumes case-insensitive matching,
then has to trace all downstream calls to discover it's a no-op.

## Changes

- `rag/nlp/__init__.py` — drop `re.I` from `get_delimiters` (line 1633).
- `deepdoc/parser/txt_parser.py` — drop `re.I` from `parser_txt` (line
51).
- `test/unit_test/rag/test_delimiter_case_sensitive.py` — new test file
with:
- 4 behavioral tests on `get_delimiters` (pattern output + `re.split`
round-trip).
- 3 end-to-end tests through `naive_merge` (bare-char +
backtick-wrapped, both cases).
- 2 parametrized static checks that `re.I` / `re.IGNORECASE` is not
present at either of the two `re.finditer` sites.

## Testing

============================= 9 passed in 0.19s ==============================
```

All tests pass on the patched code. Before the patch, the 2 static
checks fail with a clear assertion message (the 7 behavioral tests pass
either way, confirming `re.I` was dead code).

## Related

- #17384 — the issue this PR closes. Note the issue's reproduction code
(`re.split(..., flags=re.I)`) doesn't actually match what the production
code does — the production `re.split` calls all omit `re.I`, which is
why current behavior is already case-sensitive. The fix here is still
valuable as a defensive cleanup + test coverage, but it's not a
behavioral fix per se.
- #17383 — broader parser consolidation (six implementations → one). The
fix here is independent and small enough to land first.
- #17385 — sibling UX PR (tooltip + live preview). Files are disjoint
(`web/src/**` vs `rag/nlp/**` + `deepdoc/parser/**`), so no interaction.

08332501a8 feat: add Mistral OCR (/v1/ocr) as a document parser; fix "Can't find model" mis-tag (#5782, #7075) (#17057)
### What problem does this PR solve?

Adds first-class support for **Mistral OCR** (`POST /v1/ocr`) as a
document parser, and fixes the long-standing bug where selecting
`mistral-ocr-latest` fails with `Can't find model for
<tenant>/image2text/mistral-ocr-latest`.

`mistral-ocr-latest` is Mistral's dedicated document-OCR endpoint, not a
vision-chat (`image2text`) model, but the catalog tagged it `image2text`
— so it resolved to the `CvModel` registry, which has no `Mistral`
entry, and there was no `OcrModel` entry either. This PR registers it
correctly and wires it end to end.

**What it does**

1. **`MistralParser` + `MistralOcrModel`**
(`deepdoc/parser/mistral_parser.py`, `rag/llm/ocr_model.py`) — a proper
`OcrModel` factory `Mistral OCR`, mirroring the SoMark cloud-OCR
template. Tables stay inline as HTML; the page range maps to Mistral's
native `pages` selector (absolute page indices, billed per selected
page, so multi-task documents do not re-OCR the whole file); documents
over the inline limit go through the `/v1/files` signed-URL flow with
cleanup.
2. **Removes the `image2text` mis-tag** for `mistral-ocr-latest` from
the `Mistral` factory in `conf/llm_factories.json` (it now lives only in
the `Mistral OCR` factory, typed `ocr`). This is what closes the `Can't
find model` path.
3. **`MistralCV`** (`rag/llm/cv_model.py`) — a thin `GptV4` subclass
over Mistral's OpenAI-compatible endpoint, registering a `Mistral` entry
in the `CvModel` registry so Mistral vision models (`pixtral-*`) become
usable as `image2text` at all.
4. **Figure description** — Mistral-OCR-extracted figures are captioned
using the tenant's configured `image2text` model (any provider),
matching MinerU/deepdoc behaviour.
5. **Wires the parser into every chunking method** (`naive`, `paper`,
`book`, `laws`, `manual`, `one`, `presentation`) and the `rag/flow` DAG
path. This also fixes a related latent gap where those chunkers
forwarded only `mineru_llm_name`, so any model-based OCR provider
selected on a non-`naive` method silently fell through.

**Notes on the API contract** (verified against the live Mistral API):
`pages` is a selector (returns absolute `index`, bills only the
requested pages); `include_blocks: true` returns per-block bounding
boxes usable for chunk highlighting and figure cropping; large files use
`POST /v1/files` → signed URL → OCR → `DELETE`.

**Testing**: new unit tests cover the response→sections contract (both
the 2-tuple `naive` path and the typed 3-tuple DAG path), the
position-tag rescale, the HTTP client incl. upload failure/cleanup
paths, `parse_pdf` page-range threading, registry registration, env
config, the suffix normalization, the factory catalog entry, `MistralCV`
registration, and figure-description injection. Verified end to end
against the live Mistral API on real PDFs (table extraction,
page-selector cost avoidance, figure captioning).

18ea0fb7f9 fix(deepdoc): prevent figure and equation crops from merging on scientific PDFs (#15873)
### What problem does this PR solve?

Closes #15872 

On pages that contain both a textless equation and a figure, the layout
recognizer could merge the two unrelated regions into a single cropped
image with concatenated captions. This shows up most often on scientific
and technical PDFs.

The cause is a `layoutno` namespace collision in
`deepdoc/vision/layout_recognizer.py`. Text-overlapping boxes are tagged
per type by `findLayout`: figures become `figure-{ii}` using the
figure-only index, and equations become `equation-{ii}` using the
equation-only index. The fallback loop that handles textless regions,
however, indexes the combined figure plus equation list and always uses
a `figure` prefix.

Because the two paths use different index spaces and prefixes, a page
laid out as `[textless equation, figure with text]` produces two boxes
tagged `figure-0`. `_extract_table_figure` in
`deepdoc/parser/pdf_parser.py` buckets boxes by `f"{page}-{layoutno}"`,
so both fall into the same `page-figure-0` bucket, and `cropout`
stitches the disjoint regions into one image.

**Fix**

The fallback loop now iterates per type, indexes within each type's own
list, and reuses the type as the `layoutno` prefix (`figure-{i}` or
`equation-{i}`). This matches the namespace that `findLayout` already
assigns to text-overlapping boxes. Since the `visited` flag is shared by
reference, each layout is tagged by exactly one path, so per-type
indices stay collision free. Textless equations now land under
`equation-N`, consistent with text-overlapping equations, instead of the
old `figure-N`.

The same fix is applied to `AscendLayoutRecognizer`, which shared the
identical defect.

Downstream consumers of `layoutno` were checked and all treat it as an
opaque equality or bucketing key, so no other code paths are affected.
When a page has no equations, the combined index equals the figure-only
index and the output is unchanged.

a7b193d77b fix: align pdf table structure coordinates (#17016)
### What problem does this PR solve?

Table structure recognition rows, columns, headers, and spans are
produced in cropped table image coordinates, while OCR boxes are matched
later in page-cumulative coordinates. Comparing those boxes without
normalization can skip or misassign table row and column metadata.

Closes #16992.

### What is changed?

- Map TSR components from cropped or rotated table-image coordinates
back into page-cumulative coordinates before matching OCR boxes.
- Reuse one inverse rotation transform for rotated OCR boxes and TSR
components.
- Keep TSR layout ids in the same `table-N` form used by table OCR
boxes.
- Sort columns by mapped page x-coordinate after coordinate
normalization.
- Add focused unit coverage for page offsets, zoom scaling, and
90/180/270 degree rotated tables.

already present locally. The focused parser test above does not require
that data fixture.

5c96fa51f0 fix(docling): detect chunked response by shape, not request payload (#16921)
Fixes #16917.

## Problem

`deepdoc/parser/docling_parser.py::_parse_pdf_remote` decides whether
the
response is chunked based on which payload was sent, not on what came
back.
Docling Serve silently drops unknown fields such as `do_chunking`
(Pydantic
`extra="ignore"`) and returns a standard `{"document": ..., "status":
...}`
conversion response. The code then:

1. sets `is_chunked_response = True` from the request shape,
2. logs `Successfully used native chunking on: <endpoint>`,
3. extracts 0 chunks from `response_json.get("results", [])`,
4. logs `Native chunks received: 0`,
5. falls through to the existing `md_content` fallback.

The `md_content` fallback path is fine. The misleading log lines are the
problem: operators see "Successfully used native chunking" immediately
followed by "Native chunks received: 0" and "No chunk built", which
looks
like an internal regression rather than a server contract gap.

## Fix

Decide chunked-vs-standard from the **response shape**, not the request:

```python
response_is_chunk = self._looks_like_chunk_response(response_json)
is_chunked_response = chunk_flag and response_is_chunk
```

`_looks_like_chunk_response` returns True iff the response is a
non-empty
list or a dict with a non-empty `results` or `chunks` list. A standard
conversion response (`{"document": ..., "status": ...}`) does not match,
so
a server that ignored the chunking flag is correctly classified as
standard
even when the request payload asked for chunking.

When chunking was requested but the server returned a standard response,
log a single WARNING ("Server ignored chunking request on <endpoint>;
treating response as standard conversion.") instead of the INFO success
line. The misleading "Prioritizes native chunking endpoints" docstring
is
replaced with what the code actually does.

## Tests

`test/unit_test/deepdoc/parser/test_docling_parser_remote.py` (6 tests,
all passing):

- `test_remote_chunked_200_standard_payload_falls_back` (existing —
still
  passes; the `md_content` path is unchanged)
- `test_chunk_shape_helper_recognises_chunk_payloads`
- `test_chunk_shape_helper_rejects_standard_payloads`
- `test_remote_chunked_request_with_results_list_is_treated_as_chunked`
- `test_remote_top_level_list_response_is_treated_as_chunked`
- `test_remote_chunked_request_with_ignored_flag_does_not_log_success`

- A server that returns a real chunked response to a chunked request
still
goes down the chunked branch. A server that returns a standard response
  to a chunked request now goes down the standard branch with
  `is_chunked_response=False` instead of misleadingly logging success.

## Follow-up (out of scope)

Calling the real Docling-Serve native chunk endpoints
(`/v1/chunk/hybrid/source`, `/v1/chunk/hierarchical/source`) with
`HybridChunkerOptions` is a larger feature change and warrants its own
PR after this lands.

0ee02fb6d8 [Fix] Rename StandardizeImag -> StandardizeImage to fix deepdoc OCR preprocessing (#7316) (#16785)
Fixes #7316.

## Problem

`deepdoc/vision/operators.py` defines the image-standardize
preprocessing op as `class StandardizeImag` (missing the final `e`), but
every caller — including
`deepdoc/vision/recognizer.py::Recognizer.preprocess` — looks the class
up by the canonical string `"StandardizeImage"` via:

```python
op_type = new_op_info.pop("type")  # "StandardizeImage"
preprocess_ops.append(getattr(operators, op_type)(**new_op_info))
```

So `getattr(operators, "StandardizeImage")` raised `AttributeError`, and
the "StandardizeImage" preprocessing step silently never ran for any
image pipeline that used the dynamic dispatch (LayoutLMv3 and friends).
The user-visible symptom is that the standardize step is missing
entirely from the preprocessing chain, so the model gets un-normalized
images.

## Production fix

That's the entire production change — a one-character class rename. The
misnamed `StandardizeImag` had no other references in the codebase
(verified via `git grep`), so removing it is safe; every caller uses the
canonical `"StandardizeImage"` string and will now resolve correctly.

## Tests

New `test/unit_test/deepdoc/vision/test_operators_standardize_image.py`
with six regression tests, all green locally:

The tests:
1. **Pin the dispatch contract** (`hasattr(operators,
"StandardizeImage")`) — this is the exact check the recognizer's
`getattr` would do, so any future regression fails the same way the
runtime would.
2. **Pin that the misspelled name is gone** — if a downstream caller
ever relied on it, this fails loudly.
3–5. **Behavioural coverage** of the three documented code paths:
`is_scale=True, norm_type="mean_std"`, `is_scale=False,
norm_type="mean_std"`, and `norm_type="none"`.
6. **End-to-end via the same `getattr(operators, "StandardizeImage")`
call** the recognizer uses, with a real numpy image, so any rename or
removal surfaces as `AttributeError` instead of silently skipping the
step.

Verified both ways:
- Without the fix → **all 6 tests fail** (Python even suggests
`'StandardizeImag' → 'StandardizeImage'`)
- With the fix → all 6 pass in 0.15s

The test file follows the project's existing pattern
(`test/unit_test/deepdoc/parser/test_html_parser.py`): load the target
module via `importlib.util.spec_from_file_location`, stub the only
project-internal import (`rag.utils.lazy_image`), and assert against the
loaded module — no full RAGFlow runtime required.

## Risk

Very low. The class is renamed; no public Python API was using the
misnamed class. The only reference path is the `"StandardizeImage"`
string in `recognizer.py:270`, which now resolves correctly.

## Out of scope

- No other ops in `operators.py` are affected; checked all the others
(DecodeImage, NormalizeImage, Permute, etc.) and they all use correct
names.
- The dynamic-dispatch lookups in `recognizer.py` for `LinearResize`,
`StandardizeImage`, `Permute`, `PadStride` all use the same dispatch
path; only the `StandardizeImage` key was broken. No other keys need
fixing.

f0f10b6092 Fix: UserFillUp interactive forms not working in agent explore mode (#14589)
## Summary

- **Backend**: `_iter_session_completion_events` in `agent_api.py` was
filtering out `user_inputs` and `workflow_finished` SSE events, causing
agents with UserFillUp components to silently fail in explore mode — the
interactive form never appeared, while the same agent worked correctly
in run (editor) mode.
- **Frontend**: `SessionChat` component in explore mode was missing
`DebugContent` children rendering inside `MessageItem`, so even if the
backend forwarded the events, the form UI would not render. Added
`DebugContent`, `MarkdownContent`, `useAwaitCompentData` hook, and
input-disabling logic to match the run mode's `chat/box.tsx` behavior.

### Backend (`api/apps/restful_apis/agent_api.py`)
- Line 266: Added `"user_inputs"` and `"workflow_finished"` to the

091417980e fix(html_parser): preserve original text when splitting oversized blocks (#16052)
### Bug

`RAGFlowHtmlParser.chunk_block()` splits an oversized block by slicing
the **tokenized** string and storing the joined tokens:

```python
tks_str = rag_tokenizer.tokenize(block)
...
tokens = tks_str.split(" ")
while start < len(tokens):
    chunks.append(" ".join(tokens[start:start + chunk_token_num]))  # tokenized form, not source
```

On the default (Elasticsearch) backend `rag_tokenizer.tokenize`
transforms text: it lowercases/stems Latin words and inserts spaces
between CJK characters. So any text block longer than `chunk_token_num`
is stored as garbled, lowercased, space-segmented text instead of the
source content. The small-block branch correctly stores the original
`block`, so only oversized blocks are corrupted. Affects HTML and EPUB
ingestion (both go through `chunk_block`), degrading retrieved chunks
and the answers generated from them.

### Real tokenizer behavior (infinity-sdk 0.7.0, ES backend)

### Fix

Split the **original** text: break it into atoms (whitespace-delimited
runs for space-separated scripts, per-character for spaceless scripts
such as Chinese) and pack them into pieces of at most `chunk_token_num`
tokens. This preserves the source characters and still splits scripts
that have no whitespace — a plain whitespace split would leave CJK as
one un-splittable chunk.

### Proof (real tokenizer, before/after)

Running the old vs new split against the real `infinity.rag_tokenizer`:

### Tests

Added `test/unit_test/deepdoc/parser/test_html_parser.py` (English +
Chinese oversized blocks, plus small-block merge). Before the fix the
two oversized tests fail (English shows lowercasing, Chinese shows
inserted spaces); after the fix all pass. `ruff check` clean.

017adf841f fix(paddleocr): support PP-OCRv6 ocrResults fallback and integrate image parsing (#16150)
## Summary

This PR fixes two issues discovered during testing of the PaddleOCR
async API refactoring:

### 1. PP-OCRv6 returns `ocrResults` instead of `layoutParsingResults`

Models like PP-OCRv6 are pure text recognition models that return
results in `ocrResults.prunedResult.rec_texts` format rather than the
`layoutParsingResults.prunedResult.parsing_res_list` format used by
layout-aware models (PaddleOCR-VL series).

**Changes:**
- `deepdoc/parser/paddleocr_parser.py`: Extract `ocrResults` alongside
`layoutParsingResults` in `_send_request()`, add fallback logic in
`_transfer_to_sections()` and `parse_image()`
- `internal/entity/models/paddleocr.go`: Add `ocrResults` struct and
fallback extraction in Go OCR handler

### 2. Image parsing not integrated into picture chunker

The `parse_image()` method existed in PaddleOCRParser but was never
called from `rag/app/picture.py` (the module that handles image file
uploads). Users configuring PaddleOCR as their layout recognizer would
still get local deepdoc OCR for images.

**Changes:**
- `rag/app/picture.py`: When `layout_recognize` is set to PaddleOCR, use
`PaddleOCROcrModel.parse_image()` instead of local OCR. Falls back
gracefully to local OCR on failure.

## Testing

Verified end-to-end in Docker:
- PaddleOCR-VL-1.6 PDF parsing:  (10 text blocks with bbox)
- PaddleOCR-VL-1.6 image parsing:  (219 chars)
- PP-OCRv6 PDF parsing with ocrResults fallback:  (10 text blocks)
- PP-OCRv6 image parsing with ocrResults fallback:  (136 chars)

## Summary

Migrate PaddleOCR integration from the deprecated synchronous HTTP API
to the new asynchronous Job API (`submit → poll → fetch`), aligning with
PaddleOCR 3.6.0+ architecture.

## Changes

### Python (`deepdoc/parser/paddleocr_parser.py`)
- Replace synchronous `requests.post()` with async Job API flow (submit
→ poll → fetch)
- Authentication: `token {token}` → `Bearer {token}`
- File transfer: base64 JSON body → multipart file upload
- Polling: exponential backoff (initial 3s, ×1.5, max 15s, timeout
controlled by `request_timeout`)
- Result: fetch full JSONL from result URL, preserving `prunedResult`
with bbox info for crop functionality

- Old env var `PADDLEOCR_API_URL` still works (used as fallback)

## Why not use the `paddleocr` SDK package directly?

RAGFlow's `_transfer_to_sections()` relies on `prunedResult` (containing
`block_bbox`, `block_label`, `parsing_res_list`) from the raw API
response for PDF crop functionality. The SDK's public `parse_document()`
API only returns `DocParsingResult` with `markdown_text`, discarding the
bbox data. Therefore we implement the async Job API flow directly via
HTTP, following the same logic as the SDK internally.

14c460a525 Fix: Excel parser emits a spurious header-only chunk at exact chunk_rows multiples (#15490)
### What problem does this PR solve?

`RAGFlowExcelParser.html()` iterates `(len(rows) - 1) // chunk_rows + 1`
times. `rows[0]` is the header, so `len(rows) - 1` is the data-row
count. When that count is an exact multiple of `chunk_rows`, the `+ 1`
over-counts by one: the final iteration's data slice is empty, but the
header row is still appended — producing a chunk that contains only the
table header and no data.

This is reachable via `rag/app/naive.py` (`html4excel`, `chunk_rows=12`)
and `rag/app/one.py`. A sheet with 12/24/36… data rows (or 256/512… with
the default `chunk_rows=256`) produces an extra
`<table><caption>…</caption><tr><th>…</th></tr></table>` chunk. It is
non-empty, so it passes the `if _` filter and gets indexed as a real
(empty) chunk.

### Fix

Iterate `ceil(n_data / chunk_rows)` times instead of `n_data //
chunk_rows + 1`. Adds
`test/unit_test/deepdoc/parser/test_excel_parser.py`; the
header-only-chunk cases fail before this change and pass after.

9f3e289b78 Fix: preserve markdown tables during delimiter extraction (#15632)
### What problem does this PR solve?

Markdown extraction can split tables row by row when delimiter-based
extraction uses a newline delimiter. That loses table structure during
chunking even though delimiters should still split normally outside
tables.

This PR keeps the follow-up to #15482 intentionally narrow:

- preserve Markdown pipe tables during delimiter-based extraction
- preserve borderless pipe tables during delimiter-based extraction
- preserve multiline HTML tables during delimiter-based extraction
- keep delimiter splitting unchanged outside protected table ranges

5db1b296fb fix: fall back from empty Docling native chunks (#15601)
## Summary
- keep the native Docling chunking path when it returns usable chunks
- fall back to the standard Docling response parser when a chunked
request gets HTTP 200 but returns no usable chunks
- add a regression test for older Docling servers that accept the
chunking request but return a standard conversion payload

## Why
Older external Docling servers can accept a request containing
`do_chunking: true` and still return the standard conversion response
shape. The current code treats any HTTP 200 from the chunked request as
a native chunk response, finds no chunk entries, and returns zero
sections without trying the standard response parser.

Fixes #15569.
