マルコメ f54d597563 examples: update gitignore files for parity for yarn recommendations (#71956)
## What?
Update examples `.gitignore` files for parity with [Yarn's official
recommendations](https://v3.yarnpkg.com/getting-started/qa#which-files-should-be-gitignored),
accounting for Yarn's modern Plug-n-Play functionality.

## Why?
New projects initialized with `create-next-app` presently add various
extraneous files from the Yarn cache to the initial commit. This is most
notable in the case of the Next SWC binary, which may exceed 100M in
some environments (empirically, 64-bit Darwin and WSL2 Ubuntu, and very
probably other unix/linux environments), and prevent users from pushing
their new projects to free GitHub repositories without rewriting the
commit history to exclude the extraneous files, or unnecessarily setting
up Git LFS to include them.

## How?
I have errored on the side of exclusion to enable users to push their
CNA projects to GitHub as-is and for parity with other package managers,
while still providing the opportunity to opt in to additional
functionality provided by modern Yarn.

These changes follow the recommendations for
**non**-[Zero-Install](https://yarnpkg.com/features/caching#zero-installs)
configurations, as Zero-Install functionality is an extension on top of
the base package manager experience, and may necessitate additional
configuration and present additional complications for unsuspecting
users, so I think it's best left up to the user to opt-in. On account of
the majority of publicly available Next.js-based projects comprising
general consumer-facing websites, it is my belief that the majority of
Next projects would not benefit from Yarn's Zero-Install functionality,
and that explicitly facilitating it by default would break status quo
with all other non-Yarn CNA projects.

Contrary to the example `.gitignore`s provided by Yarn, I've excluded
the `.yarn/sdks` directory as it contains IDE-specific tooling; I feel
it would be presumptuous for an environmentally-agnostic tool to target
and provide package-manager-specific tooling for specific editors. This
too should be left to the user to opt-in to and provide for their
project if they deem necessary.

I have retained the current `.gitignore`'s exclusion of the `/.pnp`
directory for backwards compatibility with older versions of Yarn (the
files therein have since been reallocated to the `.yarn` directory
addressed by these changes, but I am not clear on when that delineation
occurred or the prevalence of Yarn installations which depend on the
former convention). Maintaining the exclusion here, in the worst case,
implies additional downloads (on an order of magnitude merely similar to
using npm from the outset) rather than failure.

Steven 4466ba436b chore(examples): use default prettier for examples/templates (#60530)
## Description
This PR ensures that the default prettier config is used for examples
and templates.

This config is compatible with `prettier@3` as well (upgrading prettier
is bigger change that can be a future PR).

## Changes
- Updated `.prettierrc.json` in root with `"trailingComma": "es5"` (will
be needed upgrading to prettier@3)
- Added `examples/.prettierrc.json` with default config (this will
change every example)
- Added `packages/create-next-app/templates/.prettierrc.json` with
default config (this will change every template)

leung018 66597be8a7 Add .yarn/install-state.gz to .gitignore (#56637)
### Reason for making this change
https://yarnpkg.com/getting-started/qa#:~:text=yarn%2Finstall%2Dstate.,your%20workspaces%20all%20over%20again.
In the official documentation of `yarn`, it is stated that `.yarn/install-state.gz` is an optimization file that developer shouldn't ever have to commit. However, currently, when running `create-next-app`, `.yarn/install-state.gz` is being commited.

### Remaining work
I apologize for only modifying one template initially to initiate the discussion first.

If this change is agreed upon, it should be synchronized with other `.gitignore` templates. Would it be possible to follow a similar approach as in https://github.com/vercel/next.js/pull/47241? I would appreciate any assistance in syncing this change.

Steven 9f9214abe5 Updated create-next-app docs to include pnpm usage (#35755)
This PR updates the docs and examples for `create-next-app` to include pnpm usage.

The following script was used to update every example README:

```js
const fs = require('fs')
const examples = fs.readdirSync('./examples')
for (let example of examples) {
    const filename = `./examples/${example}/README.md`
    const markdown = fs.readFileSync(filename, 'utf8')
    const regex = new RegExp(`^yarn create next-app --example (.*)$`, 'gm')
    const output = markdown.replace(regex, (yarn, group) => {
        const pnpm = `pnpm create next-app -- --example ${group}`
        return `${yarn}\n# or\n${pnpm}`
    })
    fs.writeFileSync(filename, output)
}
* Remove `license` from all examples.
This was mentioned in vercel/next.js#27121 but it looks like it didn't end up being in the merge?
Luc Leray f52955ec94 Clean up examples package.json (#27121)
Clean up package.json files in the `examples` directory:
- Add `private: true`
- Remove `version` (because they are irrelevant for packages that are not meant to be published)
- Remove `name` (because they are optional for packages that are not meant to be published, and when someone clones an example, they often rename it and the property becomes stale)
- Remove `author`
- Remove `description`
- Remove `license`
Also remove `with-dynamic-app-layout` example completely, since it does the same as `layout-component` (https://github.com/vercel/next.js/pull/27121#discussion_r668178408).
Oscar Busk 82c5cc38d5 Update/fix "examples/with-firebase-hosting" (#5853)
Hello!
I was looking at the [`with-firebase-hosting`](/zeit/next.js/tree/canary/examples/with-firebase-hosting) example and was having some various issues running it:
* `npm run serve` will choke on windows because trying to set enviroment variables with `NODE_ENV=production`
* `npm run build-funcs` failing because of babeljs mismatches between `@babel/cli@^7.0.0-rc.1` and `next@^6.0.3`
* Not being able to deploy because `firebase-tools` being a deprecated version.
I remedied this and also improved some other factors:
* Use standard JSON formatting on `package.json` so that `npm install` doesn't cause changes on every run. (a83e930)
* Remove "prettier" as a devDependency as there is no use of it in the example and most other examples does not have it as a dependency. (6095663)
* Update all dependencies. The simple usecase in this example didn't really require any changes to the code. (ccde086)
  * [`firebase-admin@6`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-admin-node/releases/tag/v6.0.0)
  * [`firebase-functions@2`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-functions/releases/tag/v2.0.0)
  * [`firebase-tools@4`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/releases/tag/v4.0.0)
  * [`firebase-tools@5`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/releases/tag/v5.0.0)
  * [`firebase-tools@6`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/releases/tag/v6.0.0)
* Make `npm run serve` runnable on windows using [`cross-env`](https://www.npmjs.com/package/cross-env). (b20dda7)
* Update `.gitignore` to ignore firebase cache (bf761b7)
* Remove `src/app/.babelrc` that seems to have been added as a previous bugfix but doesn't seem to do anything currently. (1b02045)
* Remove point from [`README.md`](https://github.com/zeit/next.js/blob/canary/examples/with-firebase-hosting/README.md) that was mentioning any `predeploy` hooks in `firebase.json` as they were removed in 4f4b7a1bce. (5636d9f)
* Use the possibility added by upgrading `firebase-tools` to [`>=4.0.0`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/releases/tag/v4.0.0) and `firebase-functions` to [`>=2.0.0`](https://github.com/firebase/firebase-functions/releases/tag/v2.0.0) to make the deployable functions use node 8 rather than node 6. Also make babel compile with node 8 as target for less polyfills etc. (c954cc2)
  * Added comment to [`README.md`](https://github.com/zeit/next.js/blob/canary/examples/with-firebase-hosting/README.md) explaining how firebase deploys to node 8 and that babel will compile code for node 8. (d8b2e65, 91953dc)
This was tested to `serve` on windows, linux(WSL) and on mac. Deploy was tested on linux(WSL) and mac.
* remove `predeploy` scripts from `firebase.json` in favour of `npm` `pre` scripts as they are consistent across `deploy` and `serve` commands. (to revisit once Firebase add support in the `firebase.json` for `preserve`)
* update deps
* workaround some bug where Babel could not resolve the standard `next/babel` config. Explicitly defining this seems to remove the issue.
* closes #4562
