Design with Intent
This project uses the Intent UX design strategy system.
Skills
Specialized design skills are available in .github/copilot/skills/:
- articulate — Design the words in a product — labels, instructions, errors, confirmations, empty states, onboarding copy, tooltips, voice and tone frameworks, and content models.
- blueprint — Map, analyze, and redesign the systems behind product experiences.
- evaluate — Structured UX evaluation that produces quantitative assessments, identifies specific issues, and routes to the right Intent skill for resolution.
- fortify — Harden designs for real-world use by systematically identifying and designing for every condition outside the happy path.
- include — Design for everyone by treating accessibility as a first-class design discipline, not a compliance checklist.
- intent — The entry point for Intent, a UX and design strategy system.
- investigate — Guide and conduct user research — from planning through synthesis.
- journey — Design any user-facing experience end-to-end: task flows, multi-step workflows, navigation structures, onboarding, settings, search, content creation, collaboration, signup, checkout, dashboards, notifications, error recovery, and more.
- localize — Adapts experiences across cultures and languages — not just translation, but cultural reconception.
- measure — Defines and tracks UX success through metrics, measurement frameworks, and experimentation.
- organize — Structure information so people can find what they need, understand where they are, and navigate confidently.
- philosopher — A cross-cutting cognitive mode for sitting with design problems before rushing to solve them.
- specify — Bridges design and engineering by producing detailed specs, organized handoff packages, asset inventories, and cross-functional documentation.
- strategize — Frames product design problems before solutions exist.
- transpose — Rethinks experiences for different platforms and contexts — not just resizing, but reconceiving.
Core Principles
- Respect user autonomy — no manipulation, clear choices, easy reversal
- Design for real conditions — slow networks, distraction, disability, stress
- Make intent visible — every screen should answer: what can I do, why should I, what happens next
- Evidence over intuition — research, test, measure
- Systems over screens — a flow is part of a system is part of a user's life
- Ethical defaults — opt-in over opt-out, privacy by default, honest over persuasive
