- Forward parsed review target (PR number/URL/branch) from
$ARGUMENTS to the harness's built-in code review in the Quick
Review Short-Circuit. Without forwarding, callers like
`ce-code-review quick 123` would silently review the current
branch instead of PR 123. Each per-harness sub-bullet now shows
the target-present syntax and the bare-call fallback. Exemption
(no built-in -> Tier 2) and programmatic-caller bypass unchanged.

Phase 3 now has a required Simplify pass at step 2 (renumbering Code
Review to step 3, Residual Work Gate to 4, Final Validation to 5,
Prepare Operational Validation Plan to 6). The pass is scoped to
Claude Code (where /simplify exists as a unique skill) and triggers
for changes of >=30 changed lines, with a carve-out for purely
mechanical diffs (formatting, dep bumps, lint fixes, generated
artifacts) where simplification has no useful yield.
Running /simplify before code review yields a smaller, cleaner diff
for the reviewer. After implementation has landed, this
bigger-picture pass typically yields more than the incremental
"Simplify as You Go" cleanups during Phase 2; both passes coexist
intentionally.
Mirrored to ce-work-beta. Updated the Phase 4 "see Phase 3 Step 5"
cross-reference to step 6, and updated tests/pipeline-review-contract
to assert the new positions plus the Claude-Code-only scope.

- Add Tier 1 capability fallback: when the harness has no built-in
code review command or skill, escalate to Tier 2 because Tier 1
cannot run. Preserves the "Every change gets reviewed" invariant
and mirrors the "no built-in code review exists" exemption in
ce-code-review's Quick Review Short-Circuit.
Applied to Phase 3 Step 2 and the bottom Code Review Tiers summary
in both ce-work and ce-work-beta shipping-workflow.md.

When $ARGUMENTS indicates the user wants a quick, fast, or light
code review, redirect to the harness's built-in code review tool
(/review in Claude Code; equivalent on Gemini and other harnesses)
instead of dispatching the multi-agent flow. If the harness has no
built-in code review tool, fall through to the full multi-agent
review (Tier 2). Programmatic callers (mode:autofix, mode:report-only,
mode:headless) bypass the short-circuit -- their orchestrator owns
user-facing routing.
The agent announces the chosen path before doing work so the user
sees which review is running.

Replace the four-criteria purity gate (purely additive, single
concern, pattern-following, plan-faithful) with risk-based
escalation. Default to Tier 1 -- harness-native code review (e.g.
/review in Claude Code). Escalate to Tier 2 (ce-code-review) only
on concrete signals: sensitive surface (auth, payments, migrations,
crypto/secrets, security config, public APIs, dependency manifests),
large+diffuse change (>=400 changed lines AND >3 directories or 2
subsystems), very large change (>=1,000 lines), or an explicit
plan/task request. The old gate over-routed low-risk changes into
the expensive multi-agent review.
Mirrored to ce-work-beta. Also renamed the Phase 3-4 heading from
"Quality Check and Ship It" to "Quality Check and Finishing Work"
(the phase doesn't strictly ship anything).

Agents spawned from LFG were blocking forever at the AskUserQuestion
prompt with no user present to respond. In mode:pipeline, default to
headless and skip step 2 entirely.
Bump 3.0.6 -> 3.0.7
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Port scan (find_free_port) only runs when PIPELINE_MODE=1
- Dev server auto-start only runs in pipeline mode; manual invocations
print a help message and stop
- LFG step 6 now passes mode:pipeline to ce-test-browser so parallel
agents claim non-colliding ports automatically
- Bump version 3.0.5 -> 3.0.6
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Always verify preferred port is free; scan upward until finding one
- Auto-start dev server (bin/dev / rails server / npm run dev) on the
claimed port if nothing is listening — no more "please start your server"
- Pass PORT= explicitly so parallel agents on the same machine never
collide on 3000
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add ce-commit-push-pr as step 7 so LFG ends with a pushed branch and open PR
- Remove optional ralph-loop step (step 1) -- simplifies the pipeline
- Renumber all steps and fix cross-references accordingly
- Bump version 3.0.3 -> 3.0.4
