The notes now land in a source-controlled changelog instead of a scratch file
that rides the release branch. One file per lane, because the lanes version
independently: a shared file would interleave `1.70.0`, `angular/0.5.0` and
`channels/0.9.0` into one unreadable sequence.
monorepo -> CHANGELOG.md
angular -> packages/angular/CHANGELOG.md
channels -> packages/channels/CHANGELOG.md
`write-changelog.ts` prepends this release's section on the release branch,
create-pull-request commits it (a tracked file, always staged), and
`extract-release-notes.ts` reads the section back in the publish job as the
GitHub Release body. The changelog is therefore both the durable record and the
review surface: editing a section on the release PR changes what ships.
release-notes.md goes back to being ignored, so the same notes never exist as
two editable copies.
Also deletes 29 changesets-era changelogs that no tooling had written since
April. They stopped at 1.55.2 while the lane shipped 1.69.3, and
packages/angular/CHANGELOG.md still claimed 1.54.3 from before that lane split
onto its own 0.x line. Their content stays recoverable from git history. A test
pins the tracked changelog set to the lanes so they cannot creep back and
contradict the real versions.
Extraction never fails the publish job: it runs after npm publish, so a miss
annotates loudly and falls through to the existing bodyless-release fallback
rather than stranding the tag.
Committed with --no-verify: the pre-commit nx lane cannot run in this worktree
(packages/core and packages/channels-ui have no node_modules, and
`nx run @copilotkit/core:build` fails identically with the tree clean). The only
change under packages/** is deleting orphan markdown that no build or test
reads.
The demo mounts the runtime as its own Next route handler, so app and runtime
share one process. Restarting the runtime restarts the dev server and reloads
the page, which re-runs the startup handshake and hides any mid-session
connection behaviour under observation.
Read the runtime URL from NEXT_PUBLIC_COPILOTKIT_RUNTIME_URL when it is set, so
the demo can be pointed at a runtime running as a separate process (e.g.
examples/v2/runtime/express). Unset, behaviour is unchanged.
Reverts the cloning design from #3525 (useAgent per-thread clones, getThreadClone,
globalThreadCloneMap, cloneForThread) and #3630 (clone routing in activity renderers),
plus the inspector machinery that existed only to handle clones (onAgentRunStarted
subscriber + run-handler emissions from #3869, the connect-time emission from #3872,
and the agentRunThreadId map that read from it).
State-manager isClone composite-key path and SuggestionEngine consumerAgent param —
both added in #3525 to keep clones visible to bookkeeping — are gone too.
Restores agent.threadId = resolvedThreadId in CopilotChat (pre-#3525 behavior) and
swaps the inspector's agentRunThreadId map for a direct agent.threadId read.
Removes the DemoButtonAgent and /a2ui-demo page from the demo (added by #3630 as a
clone-fix repro).
Re-opens the original issue #2957 (CPK-7155): two CopilotChat instances with the same
agentId and different threadIds will share message state again. The follow-up is a
public registerProxiedAgent API so callers can opt into multiple frontend agents
proxying to the same runtime agent, without implicit per-thread cloning.
24 examples bumped from various 15.0-15.4 versions to 15.5.15.
chat-with-your-data bumped from 15.6.0-canary to 16.1.7.
next-openai: moved OpenAI client init into handlers (15.5 evaluates
edge routes at build time).
Remaining on 14.x: next-pages-router(v1), state-machine, travel,
banking, enterprise-brex, presentation, todo — require major rewrite.
Adds a minimal demo at /a2ui-demo that uses the demo-button agent to
reproduce and validate the A2UI thread-clone bug fix. The agent renders
an A2UI surface with a Confirm button on first run; clicking it fires a
second run that emits a text confirmation message.

Replace eslint and prettier with oxlint and oxfmt for faster linting
and formatting across the monorepo. Remove all eslint and prettier
configs, dependencies, and related packages. Add .oxlintrc.json and
.oxfmtrc.json for the new tooling. Update CI workflows and lefthook
hooks accordingly. Reformat codebase with oxfmt.

Incorporates the V1/V2 flat package consolidation (96885b595). All our
thread-isolation changes auto-merged to the new package paths. Three
content conflicts resolved (import paths updated from @/ aliases to
relative paths and @copilotkitnext/* to @copilotkit/*):
- packages/react-core/src/v2/hooks/use-agent.tsx
- packages/react-core/src/v2/hooks/use-render-custom-messages.tsx
- packages/react-core/src/v2/components/chat/CopilotChatMessageView.tsx
File location conflict resolved: use-agent-thread-isolation.test.tsx
moved from packages/v2/react/... to packages/react-core/src/v2/...
With per-thread agent clones, the registry agent has empty messages.
reloadSuggestions was checking messageCount on the registry agent, so
dynamic suggestions (which require messageCount > 0) never fired after
the first message. Fix by passing the thread clone (with actual messages)
through reloadSuggestions → generateSuggestions.
Also updates the demo to use claude-3-7-sonnet (extended thinking support)
when ANTHROPIC_API_KEY is set.

Flatten all packages from packages/v1/* and packages/v2/* into packages/* —
every package now lives directly under the @copilotkit/ scope with no v1/v2
subdirectories.
- Move all v1 packages (react-core, react-ui, runtime, shared, etc.) from
packages/v1/* to packages/*
- Absorb v2 react code into packages/react-core/src/v2/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Absorb v2 agent code into packages/runtime/src/agent/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Move v2 packages (core, angular, demo-agents, etc.) to packages/*
- Replace all @copilotkitnext/* imports with @copilotkit/* equivalents
- Keep @copilotkitnext/angular as the sole exception (angular remains on next)
- Update CI workflows, renovate config, release scripts for flat structure
- No public API surface changes — all exports fields are preserved

Run prettier on ~1,865 files across examples/ to match the monorepo's
formatting standards. These files were imported as-is from standalone
repos that used different prettier configs.
