Under moduleResolution bundler/node16/nodenext, TypeScript ignores the
top-level "types" field once an "exports" map exists, so strict-exports
tooling (e.g. the Backstage CLI) resolves no type declarations and reports
every named export as "has no exported member". tsdown does not emit a
types condition in the exports map it generates.
Add one — first, per import/require, ESM to .d.mts and CJS to .d.cts — via
a shared withTypesConditions helper (scripts/tsdown-exports.ts) wired into
each tsdown config, and directly in the hand-maintained react-native map.
Add a regression guard, since attw and publint do NOT catch this (TS's
adjacent-file fallback masks it): scripts/validate-package-exports-types.ts,
unit + all-package tests, a validate:exports npm script, and a CI workflow
that fail if any publishable package's exports map lacks a types condition.

Bump @ag-ui/core, @ag-ui/client, @ag-ui/encoder from 0.0.53 to 0.0.56
across all packages.
@ag-ui/client 0.0.56 changed runHttpRequest from (url, requestInit) to a
fetch-thunk signature (() => Promise<Response>). Update the single-route
and connect transport paths in ProxiedCopilotRuntimeAgent to wrap the
request in () => this.fetch(url, init), restoring the broken envelope
transports.
Add @ag-ui/core, client, encoder, proto to minimum-release-age-exclude
in .npmrc so the freshly published 0.0.56 (under the 24h release-age
gate) installs in CI.
Packages without repository.url fail npm OIDC provenance verification.
Adds the field to agentcore-runner, core, sqlite-runner, voice, and
web-inspector. Includes a one-shot workflow to publish the 14 remaining
v1.57.4 packages (a2ui-renderer already published via OIDC).
Picks up ag-ui-protocol/ag-ui#1578 — `import * as jsonpatch from
"fast-json-patch"` produced an empty namespace under Node native ESM
because fast-json-patch@3.x populates exports via Object.assign, which
the CJS→ESM named-export detector cannot see. Result: every STATE_DELTA
and ACTIVITY_DELTA event threw "applyPatch is not a function", and
LangGraph generative UI streams floods the console with the failure on
each patch.
0.0.53 switches to a default import so the emitted bundle works under
both ESM and CJS consumers. Bumped @ag-ui/core and @ag-ui/encoder in
lockstep since they share the release.
Reverts the copy-dts.mjs approach from #3612 in favor of typesVersions
which is the standard Node/TS mechanism for resolving subpath types
under legacy moduleResolution: "node".
Attachment queue & previews:
- Image lightbox with View Transition API morph animation
- Video lightbox with native controls and play button overlay
- Document lightbox (PDF via blob URL, text inline, info card fallback)
- Drop zone overlay with upload icon
- Filename preservation via InputContent metadata
- Proper video thumbnail sizing and play/pause indicator
- Fix attachment queue positioning (max-w-3xl constraint)
- Padding between X button and content for audio/document cards
- Document filenames wrap instead of truncating
Attachments config:
- onUploadFailed callback for validation/upload errors (file-too-large, invalid-type, upload-failed)
- onUpload accepts sync or async returns
- AttachmentUploadResult discriminated union with explicit interfaces
- Metadata field on Attachment and onUpload return type
AG-UI version bump:
- Bump @ag-ui/client, @ag-ui/core, @ag-ui/encoder, @ag-ui/proto to 0.0.51
- Remove process.env Vite workaround (fixed upstream in 0.0.51)
Deprecation lifecycle:
- @deprecated JSDoc on all legacy image upload APIs
- ImageRenderer, ImageRendererProps, ImageUpload type, imageUploadsEnabled prop,
inputFileAccept prop, ImageRenderer prop, AIMessage.image, ImageData
- Codemod at codemods/migrate-attachments.ts (15 tests)
- Migration guide updated with codemod instructions and new type shapes
Docs:
- New guide: docs/(root)/multimodal-attachments.mdx
- Updated migration guide with onUpload return type, metadata, codemod section
- Cross-links from prebuilt-components and migration guide
- Label change: "Add photos or files" → "Add attachments"
Tests:
- CopilotChat.attachments.test.tsx — 5 tests for onUploadFailed
- migrate-attachments codemod — 15 tests
Copies .d.cts → .d.ts after each tsdown build so consumers on
moduleResolution "node" (e.g. DocuSign) can resolve types without
changing their tsconfig. Also points the "types" field back to .d.ts.

All @copilotkit/* packages were missing type declarations in their exports
map. This meant TypeScript couldn't resolve types for subpath imports like
@copilotkit/react-core/v2 without manual tsconfig paths workarounds
pointing to dist .d.ts files (which no longer exist after the tsup to
tsdown migration).
Uses nested conditional exports to map .d.mts for ESM and .d.cts for CJS
consumers, satisfying both attw and TypeScript module resolution under
nodenext and bundler modes.
