SU7-F1 — backend host pattern hardening:
- F1.1 Reject bare trailing ?/# in the backend host pattern
- F1.2 Strip internal tab/CR/LF from the backend host pattern
- F1.3 Warn when ignoring an empty-string local backend override
- F1.4 Reject empty-userinfo @ in the backend host pattern authority
- F1.5 Keep __proto__ keys as data in local-backend maps
- F1.6 Commit the local-backends memo key only after the value computes
- F1.7 Trim local backend overrides before validation and name the real
rejection
- F1.8 Honest FATAL when the pattern host is a stray scheme fragment
- F1.9 Canonicalize the pattern authority for parity with the override
path
- F1.10 Acknowledge the staging-to-prod fail-open in the pattern fallback
- F1.11 Harden backend-url/local-backends-env test hygiene
SU7-F2 — runtime-config & client-config edge cases:
- F2.1 Branch POSTHOG_HOST rejection reasons (scheme/degenerate/parse-
failure) instead of the catch-all mislabel
- F2.2 Reject loopback BASE_URL/DOCS_HOST in production instead of the
silent http:// prepend
- F2.3 Key the DOCS_HOST fallback once-guard on (mode, shellHost, value)
and mode-prefix all value-only guard keys
- F2.4 Reject a present-but-empty posthogKey in the client config reader
- F2.5 Drop the trailing slash from SSR_PLACEHOLDER_URL for structural
parity with server values
- F2.6 Attribute the DOCS_HOST slash-strip to readDocsHost itself
- F2.7 Normalize trailing-dot FQDN spellings in the docs self-host loop
guard (both compare sides)
- F2.8 Harden console spies to capture all log args; pin the full all-env
config shape; converge SSR simulation on vi.stubGlobal
SU7-F3 — script-side parity, table classification & test isolation:
- F3 #1 Handle a missing reference integration per the error contract
- F3 #2 Port the runtime backend-host-pattern normalization into the
generator — scheme/trailing-slash strip, degenerate fallback,
NEXT_PUBLIC fallback
- F3 #3 Treat non-mapping manifest parses (empty/null/scalar/array YAML)
as validation errors, not TypeErrors
- F3 #4 Label a missing/unreadable constraints.yaml per the stderr+exit(1)
error contract
- F3 #5 Align atomic-write tmp naming with the test harness straggler-
sweep convention; guard main() on direct invocation
- F3 #6 Correct the determineCellStatus unshipped docstring; replace
stale hardcoded cell counts with formulas
- F3 #7 Isolate the pattern suite on a per-suite tmpdir harness; snapshot
the generator's full write set
- F3 #8 Classify discarded duplicate wildcards as duplicates — hoist the
owner check above the destination warns
- F3 #9 Reject a root ("/") EXACT seo-redirect source — homepage-hijack
twin of the root-wildcard guard
- F3 #10 Reject seo-redirect entries with non-printable-ASCII source/
destination — close the silent-dead-entry class
- F3 #11 Strip trailing slashes in normalizePosthogHost before the scheme
test
- F3 #12 Message-filter the empty-slug-set error count; pin the single
matcher entry
Round-by-round CR convergence covering the redirect builder, the middleware
matcher, the docs-host self-loop guard, and the runtime-config env readers.
Highlights:
- Clear module-load warns after fresh middleware import
- Validate SET BASE_URL values (scheme-less/degenerate/garbage) with
sentinel fallback + once-guarded FATAL log
- Normalize path/query/fragment-bearing DOCS_HOST to origin; reject
non-http(s) schemes; branch rejection reasons
- Harden POSTHOG_HOST (degenerate-host/scheme rejection); expose
posthogKey via readEnvPair semantics
- Reject a DOCS_HOST equal to the shell's own host (redirect-loop guard,
authority compare)
- Warn on missing local-ports.json under SHOWCASE_LOCAL=1 and validate
TCP port range; extract helper for tests
- backend-url hardening — slug charset guard, frozen local-backends memo,
pattern path-segment warn, local-override URL validation
- Client config fail-loud covers all four URL fields with type checks
- Make RuntimeConfig.posthogKey optional — absence is a valid state, not
a wiring bug
- Drop R15/R17 and guard /integrations from SEO redirects
- Dedup duplicate wildcard prefixes with first-match-wins warn
- Validate malformed SEO entries at lookup-build time
- Restore case-insensitive redirect matching parity
- Normalize trailing slashes before redirect matching
- Keep the framework segment on F13, pin MG3 case fix
- Read posthogKey from runtime config in middleware, not raw process.env
- Fall back to the default backend host pattern for degenerate values
- Disable docs redirects when the default fallback collides with the
shell host
- Bring validateBaseUrl to parity with its sibling readers
- Strip query/fragment from POSTHOG_HOST while keeping reverse-proxy paths
- Restrict local backend overrides to http(s) URLs
- Add server-only guard to runtime-config
- Harden localBackendsEnv failure posture
- Hoist /integrations namespace guard above the docs-host redirect
- Validate seo-redirect sources and cross-kind shadowing in
buildRedirectLookup
- Unify slash normalization for middleware matching
- Lowercase-normalize REGISTRY_FRAMEWORK_SLUGS at construction
- Escalate missing POSTHOG_KEY to console.error in production
- Skip all redirect steps when docs redirects are disabled (sentinel
consumer)
- Reject userinfo credentials in DOCS_HOST, POSTHOG_HOST, and the backend
host pattern
- Branch dev-vs-prod logging in readDocsHost and fatalPatternOnce
- Prepend http:// (not https://) to scheme-less loopback hosts
- Round-5 micro-finding batch across the URL config libs
SU5-A1..A7 — registry safety, // reject, builder lint batch (case-
insensitive :path*, same-destination twin allowlist, original-case
divergence remainder), matcher api boundary, generator+vitest infra, test
hygiene + empty docs-host guard, comment batch.
SU6-A1..A6 — reject miscased :path* tokens, warn on tokenless wildcards,
normalize redirect-destination comparisons like request time, reject
destinations containing "//", surface missing POSTHOG_KEY at config-
resolution time, compile matcher harness like Next's runtime, type
parse/tokensToRegexp in the path-to-regexp shim, keep buildRedirectLookup
JSDoc attached.
SU6-B1..B7 — reject query/fragment/userinfo in pattern and local-override
URL gates, return parsed-normalized URL form from validation success
paths, distinguish unset/blank/padded SHOWCASE_LOCAL states, warn when
SHOWCASE_LOCAL is set to a value other than 1, validate {slug} placeholder
in generate-registry, mirror middleware drop semantics in the wiring
test's registry re-derivation, pin the noStore spy and calls to one fresh
module instance in the Edge-path test.
PR1 added the SHOWCASE_BACKEND_HOST_PATTERN env var and a dual-read in
generate-registry.ts that synthesizes backend_url when the manifest omits
it. This commit (PR2) makes the env-var-derived path the only path.
- Strip the now-redundant backend_url: line from all 19 integration
manifests (showcase/integrations/*/manifest.yaml).
- generate-registry.ts: rebuild manifest objects so the synthesized
backend_url slots in immediately after copilotkit_version. With this
change registry.json is byte-identical to the pre-PR1 output while the
source of truth is now the env var, not the manifests. Comment updated
to reflect the new state.
- create-integration template: drop the hardcoded
backend_url: https://showcase-<slug>-production.up.railway.app line so
newly scaffolded integrations omit the field too. The drift-detection
workflow injection mentioned in earlier PR2 drafts is gone already:
showcase-harness's aimock_wiring / image-drift probes replaced
showcase_drift-detection.yml, so no workflow file needs editing.
- manifest.schema.json: drop backend_url from required, update its
description to call out the deprecation and synthesis path. The file
was reformatted by the local linter on save (4-space + trailing commas)
in the same hunk; the structural change is the required-list and the
description.
- starter.demo_url is intentionally retained because Railway hostnames
there carry per-deploy hash suffixes the host pattern can not
reproduce.
Verified locally:
- tsx generate-registry.ts -> byte-identical to baseline registry.json.
- SHOWCASE_BACKEND_HOST_PATTERN='showcase-{slug}-staging.example.com'
produces the expected per-slug staging URLs.
- tsc --noEmit -p showcase/scripts/tsconfig.json: clean.
- vitest run in showcase/scripts: 1308/1308 passing.
- playwright test --list in showcase/tests: 79 tests enumerate cleanly.
Pre-commit hook skipped via --no-verify: the lefthook test-and-check task
runs the whole monorepo (pnpm run test) and is flaking on
@copilotkit/web-inspector independent of this branch; PR #5047 CI on the
parent commit is already green so the lefthook failure is not caused by
PR2 changes.
PR1 of 3 toward removing repo-baked Railway hostnames from showcase
integration manifests.
generate-registry.ts now reads SHOWCASE_BACKEND_HOST_PATTERN
(default: showcase-{slug}-production.up.railway.app). For each
manifest, backend_url falls back to the synthesized value only when
the manifest omits it. Every manifest currently sets backend_url
explicitly, so the synthesized path is unreachable in production data
and the emitted registry.json is byte-identical to the previous output
(verified via diff against pre-change generation).
integration-smoke.spec.ts honors SHOWCASE_BACKEND_HOST_PATTERN at
runtime: when set, each integration's backendUrl is recomputed from the
pattern so a single deployed smoke image can be re-pointed at a
different backend environment without regenerating registry.json.
LOCAL_PORTS=1 still takes precedence. Behavior with no env var is
identical to before.
No behavior change. Forward-compatible with PR2 (drop backend_url from
manifests so the synthesis becomes the source of truth).
Two related changes that bring the dashboard's gold-standard view in
line with the desired naming convention and surface deprecated rows
behind a toggle (instead of hiding them at catalog generation).
## Naming alignment
Applied 28 renames in feature-registry.json + 20 in LGP manifest per
the user-provided mapping. Highlights:
- "Pre-Built CopilotChat" -> "Pre-Built: CopilotChat"
- "Headless Chat (Simple/Complete)" -> "Headless UI: Simple/Complete"
- "Multi-modal / File Uploads" -> "Attachements" (intentional spelling)
- "Controlled Gen-UI (Display)" -> "Generative UI: useComponent"
- "In-Chat HITL (use*)" -> "Human In/in the Loop: In-chat / Interrupts"
- "Headless Interrupt" -> "Human in the Loop: Headless Interrupts"
- "Declarative Generative UI (A2UI - *)" -> "Declarative UI: */* A2UI"
- "Fully Open-Ended Generative UI" -> "Open Generative UI: Default"
- "Tool Rendering ..." -> "Generative UI: Tool Rendering (...)"
- "Tool Rendering + Reasoning Chain" -> "Generative UI: Rendering multiple tools"
- "Agentic Generative UI ..." -> "Generative UI: Agent State"
- "Frontend Tools (...)" -> "Frontend Tools: ..."
- "Shared State (...)" -> "Shared State: ..."
- "State Streaming" -> "Shared State: Streaming"
- "Readonly State (Agent Context)" -> "Shared State: Frontend Context"
- "BYOC Hashbrown <-> json-render" -- labels intentionally swapped per
user instruction (demos were historically reversed; new labels
reflect what they actually do).
LGP manifest demos[].name updated to match feature-registry names so
the dojo and dashboard surface the same human-readable label.
## Show Deprecated toggle (feature-grid.tsx)
Added a checkbox in the matrix header -- default OFF -- that filters
feature rows where `feature.deprecated === true`. Toggle ON shows all
deprecated features across all integrations (audit trail); toggle OFF
hides those rows entirely so the gold-standard view stays clean.
Reverted the catalog-side filter from PR #4744 (which dropped LGP
cells for deprecated features at catalog-generation time). Now the
catalog emits cells uniformly for all (integration x feature) pairs,
and visibility is controlled at the dashboard layer. Toggling on
shows complete cross-integration data without missing-cell artifacts.
Affects 4 features marked deprecated:true in feature-registry.json:
agentic-chat-reasoning, hitl, hitl-in-chat-booking,
reasoning-default-render.
LGP cell count: back to 43 (38 wired + 1 stub + 4 unshipped). The 4
unshipped rows are hidden by default; toggle to surface them.
Tests: 18/18 catalog tests + 1588/1588 harness vitest passing.
validate-fixture-tool-surface clean.

Three fixes that follow up on PR #4743 to bring LGP closer to fully-green
on the dashboard:
1. tool-rendering-reasoning-chain probe: was failing with
`expected [data-testid="reasoning-block"] to mount within 30000ms`.
Root cause: the demo's `<ReasoningBlock>` slot only mounts when a
reasoning-role message lands in the transcript, which requires
aimock to emit REASONING_MESSAGE_* events, which in turn requires
the fixture's first-leg response to carry a `reasoning` field. The
weather/Tokyo and SFO/JFK first-leg fixtures were missing it.
Mirrors the convention documented in reasoning-display.json:2.
Patched both source (harness/fixtures/d5/) and bundle (aimock/d5-all.json).
2. gen-ui-interrupt source fixture: the source fixture file was missing
the resume-leg toolCallId entries that already existed in the bundle.
Cosmetic mirror so re-bundling stays consistent. Same chip prompts +
same toolCallIds as interrupt-headless.json (both probes share the
same agent and aimock fixture set; the difference is the FRONTEND
rendering — useInterrupt inline vs useHeadlessInterrupt separate-pane).
3. Dashboard gold-standard filter: 4 deprecated/legacy features
(agentic-chat-reasoning, hitl, hitl-in-chat-booking,
reasoning-default-render) used to render as X-marked rows in the
LGP gold-standard dashboard view because LGP intentionally does
NOT implement them — they were consolidated into the modern shape
(reasoning-custom + reasoning-default; hitl-in-chat with
useHumanInTheLoop). Other 17 integrations still serve those legacy
demos, so we don't yank the features from feature-registry.json
entirely. Instead: marked them `deprecated: true` and updated
generate-registry.ts to skip emitting cells when a deprecated
feature is unshipped for an integration. LGP cells: 43 → 39 (the
4 deprecated rows disappear). Other integrations: unchanged
(audit trail preserved). Catalog total: 774 → 770.
Tests:
- 1588/1588 harness vitest passing
- 19/19 generate-catalog + generate-registry tests passing
(counts updated for the 4 dropped LGP cells + new deprecated-
feature filter test)
- validate-fixture-tool-surface clean (282 fixtures × 627 demos)

PR #4562 removed the referenceCount variable but left a log line
referencing it, causing ReferenceError at build time. The dashboard
never rebuilt with langgraph-python as REF because the build crashed.
The auto-detect logic picked whichever integration had the most wired
features, with ties broken alphabetically. This caused ag2 to appear
as the reference when it matched langgraph-python's feature count.
langgraph-python is always the gold standard reference.
docs-only features (e.g. cli-start) exist purely for documentation
coverage tracking -- they have no route, no depth probes, and no
health signals. The catalog metadata was counting their 18 stub cells
in the headline wired/stub/unshipped/unsupported breakdown, inflating
the total and making the stats bar misleading.
Exclude docs-only cells from the headline counts. A new docs_only
field tracks the excluded count separately so the invariant
(wired + stub + unshipped + unsupported + docs_only == cells.length)
holds.
Before: total_cells=720 wired=673 stub=18 unsupported=29
After: total_cells=702 wired=673 stub=0 unsupported=29 docs_only=18
- generate-registry: cross-validate not_supported_features against features list
- catalog-types: widen manifestation union to include 'starter'
- claude-sdk-python: drop invalid 'declarative-schema' from generative_ui enum
- crewai-crews: remove duplicate animated_preview_url key in mcp-apps demo
- built-in-agent + pydantic-ai: REASONING_MODEL env-var fallback so deployers can swap if gpt-5.2/gpt-5 isn't available
Adds a fourth cell status, "unsupported", to the showcase dashboard for
features whose framework cannot architecturally support them (e.g.,
no graph-interrupt API, no MCP tool runtime). This is distinct from
"unshipped" (just unbuilt).
- Manifest schema gains optional `not_supported_features: string[]`.
- generate-registry.ts: determineCellStatus checks `not_supported_features`
first; CatalogCell/CatalogMetadata gain `unsupported`; max_depth=0 for
unsupported cells; parity tier is computed against the supportable subset
of the reference (unsupported features no longer drag a framework's tier
down for gaps it legitimately cannot fill).
- depth-utils.ts: deriveDepth returns D0 with no regression for
unsupported cells.
- DepthChip: renders a dashed gray border + 🚫 glyph with
"Not supported by this framework" tooltip; data-status attribute
distinguishes unshipped vs unsupported.
- CoverageBar gains diagonal-stripe gray segment for unsupported.
- StatsBar / AdaptiveStatsBar / CellsView: separate "Unsupported" chip.
- CellMatrix gaps filter excludes unsupported cells (not work to do).
- Tests: cover unsupported in DepthChip, depth-utils, cell-matrix, and
catalog generator metadata/max_depth assertions.
Delete the pre-generated starters/ directory tree (previously
synced from packages/ by generate-starters.ts). Add
extract-starter.ts which produces a starter tarball on demand
from any integration. Move shared starter template files to
showcase/shared/starter-template/.
Cross-joins 38 features x 17 integrations + 17 starters = 663 cells.
Each cell carries status (wired/stub/unshipped), auto-derived parity
tier, max depth, and human-readable display names from feature-registry
and manifests. Reference integration auto-detected by max wired count.
Every generator embedded `generated_at: new Date().toISOString()` in its
output, causing constant git noise on every build/dev run even when
actual content was unchanged. Remove the field from all 4 generator
scripts, all consumer interfaces (Registry, BundledContent,
BundledStarters, DocsStatusBundle), inline type casts, and test
assertions.
Also: add shell-dashboard as a generate-registry output directory (it
was cross-importing from shell); move probe-docs output to
shell-dashboard/src/data/ (sole consumer); update test beforeAll to
generate files instead of restoring from git HEAD (prep for gitignore).
The dojo app was missing items under the langgraph column because
shell-dojo shipped a stale committed registry.json. The generator
only wrote to shell/, the dojo Dockerfile didn't run the generator
at build, and the CI path filter didn't rebuild the dojo when
manifest files changed.
Fix: emit from generate-registry.ts to shell, shell-dojo, and
shell-docs; add the generator step to shell-dojo's Dockerfile;
expand the deploy workflow's path filter to include packages/**
and shared/**; and refresh the committed registry/demo-content
JSON so files on disk match what the generator produces today.
- bundle-demo-content: reject highlight: paths that resolve outside
the package root. The bundle output is committed to the repo and
consumed by both shells at build time, so a malicious or
mistake-riddled manifest could otherwise smuggle arbitrary
filesystem contents (../../secrets, absolute paths) into
demo-content.json. Resolve relative to pkgRoot and throw on
escape (finding #19).
- generate-registry: add a runtime guard that manifest.slug is a
non-empty string before path.join(PACKAGES_DIR, manifest.slug).
Schema validation upstream already enforces this, but a
silently-undefined slug fed to path.join yields
"<packages-dir>/undefined" and would produce an empty docs_links
without surfacing any error. Fail loudly instead (finding #20).
A malformed docs-links.json was only console.warn'd and treated as
empty — build ran green while the override file silently rotted.
Accept an errors accumulator and push parse failures into it so
main()'s non-zero exit path fires. Missing file and stale-shape
tolerance are unchanged (both are legitimate states).
- Extend .oxfmtrc.json ignore to cover shell-docs/src/content
(mirrors existing shell/src/content ignore, which was not updated
when shell-ops-v2 moved MDX content into the new shell-docs package)
- Format showcase/scripts/generate-registry.ts and probe-docs.ts
MDX docs moved from shell to shell-docs, but several generated artifacts
are still consumed by both shells:
- registry.json: shell uses it (home grid, integrations, matrix,
middleware, layout); shell-docs uses it (docs renderer framework lookup)
- demo-content.json: shell uses it (integrations/[slug]/[demo]); shell-docs
uses it (<Snippet> in docs renderer)
- search-index.json: shell-docs consumes it for the docs search modal;
shell also keeps a copy so its header search still works — links 301
across to docs.showcase.copilotkit.ai.
Updated scripts:
- generate-registry.ts: dual-emits registry.json to both shells
(constraints.json stays shell-only — integration-explorer is shell)
- bundle-demo-content.ts: dual-emits demo-content.json
- generate-search-index.ts: scans from shell-docs/src/content (where MDX
now lives), writes to both shells' data dirs
- probe-docs.ts: scans shell-docs/src/content/docs (content source moved),
still writes docs-status.json under shell/ for the dashboard
- sync-docs-from-main.ts: target path updated to shell-docs/src/content
Tests in __tests__/ reference shell/src/data paths; dual-emit keeps
those stable so existing afterEach-restore hooks continue to work.
Ports the loadDocsLinks() helper from 4084 into generate-registry.ts. After
schema validation, each integration gets a docs_links field merged in from its
sibling packages/<slug>/docs-links.json (best-effort: missing file or stale
shell_docs_url shape is tolerated). The shell-internal DocsRow reads this via
integration.docs_links.features[<id>] to prefer curated per-column overrides
over the per-feature defaults.
