After the first chat, web quickstarts now tell the reader to open Inspector and confirm Agents, AG-UI Events, and Threads. Feature pages that map to a shipped pane get a short Callout. Angular links the Inspector install page first. Vue sets show-dev-console=auto so the overlay appears on localhost. The inspector-docs skill keeps pane-to-docs pointers in sync when Inspector panes change.
The repo migrated off @changesets/* to conventional-commit-driven releases
(scripts/release/ reads commit subjects from git log <lastTag>..HEAD), but
.changeset/ has been removed twice already (5afa55f067, 1e5ba689e0) and five
open PRs currently carry changeset files again. Two mechanisms keep feeding it:
contributor forks whose default branch still has the pre-cleanup .changeset/
debris, and plain convention inference — the repo reads as a Changesets repo
(pnpm monorepo, Changesets-formatted CHANGELOG.md files, "chore: release" PRs)
and nothing anywhere said otherwise.
- CONTRIBUTING.md: explain that we used Changesets, what replaced it, and what
to do instead (a good conventional commit subject).
- AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md: same rule for coding agents, which author most of
these PRs and don't read CONTRIBUTING.md.
- static / check binaries: fail on added .changeset/* files, so this stops
depending on review catching it. Filters on added/modified only, so a PR
that deletes stale changesets still passes.
- .oxfmtrc.json: drop the ignore entry for the long-gone vendored
.github/actions/changesets-action, a stale "we use changesets" signal.

Restore the 12 Python integration tools/ dirs to symlinks into
shared/python/tools. They had eroded to real, drifting copies via an
accidental stage_shared() leak (commit 534cd1efa7) — the structural root
cause of showcase divergence bugs. Symlinking re-establishes the single
source of truth; content is identical to shared (only render_a2ui naming
and the shared roll_dice/sanitize additions are adopted).
Add showcase/AGENTS.md documenting the 4 iron rules and the single-source
symlink mechanism, plus a validate-shared-symlinks CI guard (shrink-only
baseline) that fails on any NEW erosion.
Every meaningful unit of work gets its own pushed commit; a draft PR
opens on the first commit of a branch and flips to ready only on the
developer's say-so.
Flatten all packages from packages/v1/* and packages/v2/* into packages/* —
every package now lives directly under the @copilotkit/ scope with no v1/v2
subdirectories.
- Move all v1 packages (react-core, react-ui, runtime, shared, etc.) from
packages/v1/* to packages/*
- Absorb v2 react code into packages/react-core/src/v2/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Absorb v2 agent code into packages/runtime/src/agent/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Move v2 packages (core, angular, demo-agents, etc.) to packages/*
- Replace all @copilotkitnext/* imports with @copilotkit/* equivalents
- Keep @copilotkitnext/angular as the sole exception (angular remains on next)
- Update CI workflows, renovate config, release scripts for flat structure
- No public API surface changes — all exports fields are preserved
