Closes the parity gap on PR #4658. The original PR shipped sandbox-function
descriptors only; this commit adds the auto-wiring React's CopilotKitProvider
performs when openGenerativeUI is configured:
- GenerateSandboxedUiArgsSchema, OpenGenerativeUIContentSchema, and the
OpenGenerativeUIActivityType / DEFAULT_DESIGN_SKILL constants ported from
React verbatim.
- CopilotOpenGenerativeUIToolRenderer Angular component — placeholder
message cycler matching the React tool renderer.
- CopilotOpenGenerativeUIRenderer Angular component — full activity
renderer with throttled streaming updates, preview + final websandbox
iframes, jsFunctions/jsExpressions execution with pending queue,
postMessage-based auto-height, and localApi bridge sourced from the
CopilotKit service's sandboxFunctions signal.
- processPartialHtml + extractCompleteStyles helpers for safe partial
innerHTML injection.
- CopilotKit service auto-registers the generateSandboxedUi frontend tool
and design-skill agent context (with override) when openGenerativeUI is
configured. Built-in activity renderers are exposed via a new
builtInActivityRenderers signal so a chat view (or follow-on renderer
registry) can mount the activity renderer for incoming activity messages.
16 new tests across process-partial-html.spec.ts and sandbox-functions.spec.ts.
Flatten all packages from packages/v1/* and packages/v2/* into packages/* —
every package now lives directly under the @copilotkit/ scope with no v1/v2
subdirectories.
- Move all v1 packages (react-core, react-ui, runtime, shared, etc.) from
packages/v1/* to packages/*
- Absorb v2 react code into packages/react-core/src/v2/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Absorb v2 agent code into packages/runtime/src/agent/ (exported via /v2 subpath)
- Move v2 packages (core, angular, demo-agents, etc.) to packages/*
- Replace all @copilotkitnext/* imports with @copilotkit/* equivalents
- Keep @copilotkitnext/angular as the sole exception (angular remains on next)
- Update CI workflows, renovate config, release scripts for flat structure
- No public API surface changes — all exports fields are preserved
