Alan Agius 7b884f585a fix(compiler): restrict possible event handler check to property names longer than 2 characters
Previously, the compiler disallowed translation of any attribute starting with 'on' for security reasons. This incorrectly disallowed translation of the 'on' attribute itself, which is not an event handler.

This commit introduces `isPossibleEventHandler` to verify that the property name has a length greater than 2 in addition to starting with 'on'. This allows attributes like 'on' to be translated while still correctly disallowing actual event handlers like 'onerror', 'onclick', etc.

Alan Agius eb1cbbf2eb fix(compiler): prevent namespaced SVG <style> elements from being stripped
Updates the template preparser to exclude namespaced SVG style tags (':svg:style') from the style elements set.

Previously, ':svg:style' elements were incorrectly classified as PreparsedElementType.STYLE, which caused them to be completely stripped from the final template DOM tree during the Render3 template transform and pushed into standard component stylesheets. By limiting the style element parsing to standard 'style' tags, namespaced SVG style tags remain safely in the template AST as normal DOM elements, preserving local SVG styling.

Alan Agius 782e01594e fix(compiler): strip namespaced SVG script elements during template compilation (#68925)
Ensures that namespaced <script> elements (such as :svg:script) are correctly classified as PreparsedElementType.SCRIPT by the template preparser and stripped during compilation to prevent potential XSS vulnerabilities. Consequently, obsolete security schema mappings and runtime sanitization checks for <script> attributes have been removed since these elements are never present in compiled template outputs.

Alan Agius 0b07f47bd6 fix(compiler): normalize tag names with custom namespaces in DomElementSchemaRegistry (#68925)
Custom XML/XHTML namespaced elements (e.g., <xhtml:a>) fall back to the standard HTML namespace during element creation at compile-time/runtime. However, their property and security context lookups inside the schema registry were incorrectly performed using the full namespaced tag name (e.g., :xhtml:a), which bypassed the default a|href sanitization registry and incorrectly returned SecurityContext.NONE instead of SecurityContext.URL.

This commit introduces tag name normalization inside DomElementSchemaRegistry for custom namespaces (other than the built-in svg and math namespaces). Custom namespaced tag names are now normalized to their simple HTML element counterparts for all registry queries, ensuring that correct property schema validation and dynamic security sanitization rules (such as URL sanitization) are enforced at runtime.

Alan Agius cc1378d54b fix(compiler): sanitize dynamic href and xlink:href bindings on SVG a elements (#68925)
Dynamic bindings to `href` and `xlink:href` attributes on SVG `<a>` elements (`<svg:a>`) were previously unmapped in the DOM security schema. As a result, they bypassed sanitization completely, creating a potential XSS vulnerability if bound to untrusted user inputs (e.g., `javascript:` URLs).

This fix mitigates this risk by:

1. Registering `href` and `xlink:href` on `<svg:a>` elements under the `SecurityContext.URL` context in both the compiler and core DOM security schemas.

2. Enabling template compilation to output runtime URL sanitization checks (`ɵɵsanitizeUrl`) on these attributes.

3. Adding regression and verification test cases to ensure dynamic SVG link bindings are safely sanitized at runtime while static values are correctly allowed.

Alan Agius d04ddd73df fix(core): prevent binding unsafe attributes on SVG animation elements (#67797)
SVG animation elements (`animate` and `set`) can be used to animate sensitive attributes like `href` or `xlink:href`. Binding to these animation attributes (like `to`, `from`, or `values`) with a sensitive target creates an XSS vector.

This change mitigates this risk by:
1. Classifying `to`, `from`, and `values` on `<animate>` and `<set>` elements as `ATTRIBUTE_NO_BINDING` in the DOM security schema to prevent standard dynamic bindings.
2. Adding runtime validations in `ɵɵvalidateAttribute` to verify that `attributeName` is not a sensitive attribute (such as `href` or `xlink:href`) when processed by a set of `SECURITY_SENSITIVE_ATTRIBUTE_NAMES`. If it is, a runtime error `UNSAFE_ATTRIBUTE_BINDING` is thrown.
3. Adding regression tests in `integration_spec.ts` to ensure unsafe bindings throw an error while safe ones pass correctly.

Matt Lewis 880a57d4b3 fix(compiler): prevent shimCssText from adding extra blank lines per CSS comment
The comment placeholder restoration in `shimCssText` appended an unconditional
`+ '\n'` to each non-hash comment replacement. Because `_commentRe` does not
consume the newline that follows a comment in the source, that newline already
remains in `cssText`. The extra `'\n'` was therefore inserted on top of the
existing one, shifting every line after each comment down by one. In files with
many comments (e.g. large SCSS preambles) this shifts all subsequent CSS rules
far enough that the CSS sourcemap — generated before `shimCssText` runs —
points to completely wrong source locations in browser DevTools.

The fix is to drop the `+ '\n'`; internal newlines within a multi-line comment
are still preserved via `_newLinesRe`, and the trailing newline that follows the
comment in `cssText` is already present without any extra injection.

Andrew Scott 8d5210c9fe feat(core): add ChangeDetectionStrategy.Eager alias for Default
Adds `ChangeDetectionStrategy.Eager` as an explicit alias for `ChangeDetectionStrategy.Default`. This improves readability when contrasting with `OnPush`, clarifying that the component will be checked eagerly when traversal reaches it.

Compiler findings:
- The compiler resolves `ChangeDetectionStrategy` enum members by value in `resolveEnumValue` (see `packages/compiler-cli/src/ngtsc/annotations/common/src/evaluation.ts`).
- Since `Eager` has usage value `1` (same as `Default`), it is correctly interpreted during static analysis.
- At runtime, `defineComponent` (in `packages/core/src/render3/definition.ts`) checks `changeDetection === ChangeDetectionStrategy.OnPush` (0). Any other value, including `1` (Eager/Default), results in eager checking behavior (`onPush: false`).

Alex Rickabaugh a67e00741c refactor(forms): move control logic into FormField directive
Refactors the `ɵɵcontrolCreate` and `ɵɵcontrol` instructions to delegate control logic to the forms package via new `ɵngControlCreate` and `ɵngControlUpdate` lifecycle hooks. Previously, the logic for binding form state to native elements and custom controls was hardcoded within `@angular/core`.

**Compiler Changes:**
- Introduces a new compilation phase `specializeControlProperties` (in `control_directives.ts`).
- This phase detects properties named `formField` and specializes them into `ControlCreate` and `Control` IR opcodes.
- These opcodes emit `ɵɵcontrolCreate` and `ɵɵcontrol` instructions, respectively.

**Runtime Changes:**
- `ɵɵcontrolCreate` acts as the creation phase. It locates the control directive and invokes its `ɵngControlCreate` method.
- `ɵɵcontrol` acts as the update phase, and invokes the control directive's `ɵngControlUpdate` method (if present).
- Introduces a `passThroughInput` configuration in `ControlFeature`. This specifies the input name (e.g., `formField`) that triggers the control. If the runtime detects that this input is bound to multiple targets (e.g., the `FormField` directive *and* the host component), the control is flagged as "pass-through". In this state, `ɵngControlCreate` returns a no-op update function, deferring responsibility to the other consumer (e.g., the component managing the field itself).

**Forms Changes:**
- `FormField` directive implements `ɵngControlCreate` and `ɵngControlUpdate`.
- Inside this hook, `FormField` determines the type of control it is attached to (Native, CVA, or Custom Signal Control) and delegates to the appropriate handler (`nativeControlCreate`, `cvaControlCreate`, or `customControlCreate`).
- Consolidates all form binding logic within `@angular/forms/signals`, enabling support for new `FormValueControl` and `FormCheckboxControl` interfaces.
- Reorganizes the codebase by moving `FormField` from `api/` to `directive/` and splitting the binding logic into semantic pieces:
    - `control_native.ts`, `control_cva.ts`, and `control_custom.ts` contain the specific handlers for each control type.
    - `native.ts` and `select.ts` provide helpers for native element discovery and select-specific synchronization.
    - `bindings.ts` manages the tracking and application of property/attribute bindings.

Kristiyan Kostadinov ce80136e7b fix(compiler): optimize away unnecessary restore/reset view calls
When producing a listener, the template pipeline does the following in separate phases:
1. Generates all the variables available within its scope.
2. Adds `restoreView` and `resetView` calls if there are any referenced to local variables (e.g. `@let` or local refs).
3. Optimizes away the variables that aren't used.

This means that we can end up in a situation where the references to the variables in the scope no longer exist, but we still enter and leave the view as if they're there which is unnecessary.

These changes add a simple optimization pass that looks specifically for the pattern of a `restoreView` followed by a `return resetView(expr)`. Furthermore, by changing the order of some optimizations, we're able to drop the `getCurrentView` variable as well.

Fixes #66286.
