This commit updates a set of tests to avoid using hand-written instructions and replace them with TestBed APIs. Some tests were moved to the `acceptance` folder to colocate them with other renderer-related tests.
PR Close#46525
di_spec.ts was using handwritten definitions and the `renderComponent`-based
`ComponentFixture` (left over technical debt from the early days of Ivy.
This commit updates it to:
* remove unnecessary tests ("limp mode" DI, Renderer3, etc)
* convert other tests to use JIT-compiled classes and not handwritten defs
PR Close#46522
This commit finishes converting providers_spec.ts from `ComponentFixture`
and handwritten definitions to TestBed and JIT-compiled standalone
components.
PR Close#46527
This commit replaces usage of the internal `directiveInject` instruction
with the public `inject` function, as part of a larger cleanup of
providers_spec.ts.
PR Close#46527
This commit convers the providers_helper utility function
`expectProvidersScenario` to use the TestBed internally instead of
`ComponentFixture` and handwritten defs. This required several adjustments:
* Making the `ngModule`s passed in to the helper utility real NgModules.
* Using `ViewEncapsulation.None` for the test components (stabilizes the
generated HTML).
* Convert handwritten test components & directives into JIT-compiled
standalone equivalents.

Currently, when importing `BrowserAnimationsModule`, Angular provides
`AnimationRendererFactory` as the `RendererFactory2`. The `AnimationRendererFactory`
relies on the `AnimationEngine`. The `AnimationEngine` may be created earlier than the
`ApplicationRef` (e.g. if it's requested within the `APP_INITIALIZER` before the `ApplicationRef`
is created). This means that Angular will add the `AnimationEngine` to `R3Injector.onDestroy`
before the `ApplicationRef`. The `R3Injector` will call `ngOnDestroy()` on the `AnimationEngine`
before the `ApplicationRef`, which means the `flush()` will be called earlier before views are destroyed.

This change separates the router initializer into different providers.
While it does not actually change the tree-shakeablity or the public
API, it does move us towards a world that _could_ do this. That is,
instead of `initialNavigation: 'disabled'`, users could use
`provideDisabledInitialNavigation` in the `bootstrapApplication` call
and none of the code for `initialNavigation: 'enabledBlocking'` would be
included in the application.
PR Close#46215
Extracting preloading to a provider moves us towards
thinking about a world where `ExtraOptions` doesn't exist to control
behaviors that are opt-in/opt-out. Instead, these behaviors could be
controlled by the presence (or lackthereof) of the providers which has
the functionality. This is relevant to a world in which we no longer
have the `RouterModule` but instead have something like `provideRouter`
where the features are tree-shakeable.
This change _does not_ make the `RouterPreloader` tree-shakeable inside
`RouterModule.forRoot` because the compiler cannot statically determine
whether it's needed. However, in the `provideRouter` world without
`forRoot`, preloading could be exposed through the provider function
instead, making the `RouterPreloader` and `PreloadingStrategy`
implementations tree-shakeable for those that don't use it (which is the
default - no preloading).

During JIT compilation of standalone components the compiler did not deduplicate
declarations in the imports array, unlike the AOT compiler. This may result in
runtime errors during directive matching, when the same component is found
multiple times resulting in NG0300, for example:
> NG0300: Multiple components match node with tagname mat-form-field: MatFormField and MatFormField.
This commit fixes the issue by deduplicating imports in the JIT compiler.

Prior to this commit, the TestBed logic erroneously tried to apply provider overrides to standalone pipes that were imported in an NgModule. This commit updates the logic to recognize types that may have a scope (an NgModule or a standalone component) and skip other types while applying provider overrides recursively.
PR Close#46407
Prior to standalone components, the `applyProviderOverridesToModule` method was used exclusively for NgModules. With standalone, its scope was expended to include standalone components as well. This commit renames the method to `applyProviderOverridesInScope` to better reflect this + also renames a field that refers to a set that contains already overridden types.

Previously, the `createEnvironmentInjector` function allowed creating an instance of an EnvironmentInjector without providing a parent injector. This resulted in an injector instance, which was detached from the DI tree, thus having limited value. This commit updates the types of the `createEnvironmentInjector` function to make the parent injector a required argument.

The `Observable` chain is currenlty the most straightforward way to
handle navigation cancellations where we ensure that the cancelled
navigation does not continue to be processed. Until we design and
implement an alternative way to accomplish equivalent functionality,
we need to maintain the `Observable` chain wherever we might execute
user code. One reason for this isthat user code may contain redirects so we do not
want to execute those redirects if the navigation was already cancelled.

PR Close#46274
Consider the case in which `FormBuilder` is used to construct a group with an optional field:
```
const controls = { name: fb.control('') };
const foo: FormGroup<{
name: FormControl<string | null>;
address?: FormControl<string | null>;
}> = fb.group<{
name: FormControl<string | null>;
address?: FormControl<string | null>;
}>(controls);
```
Today, with fully strict TypeScript settings, the above will not compile:
```
Types of property 'controls' are incompatible.
Type '{ name: FormControl<string | null>; address?: FormControl<FormGroup<SubFormControls> | null | undefined> | undefined; }' is not assignable to type '{ name: FormControl<string | null>; address?: FormGroup<SubFormControls> | undefined; }'.
```
Notice that the `fb.group(...)` is calculating the following type for address: `address?: FormControl<FormGroup<string|null>`. This is clearly wrong -- an extraneous `FormControl` has been added!
This is coming from the calculation of the result type of `fb.group(...)`. In the type definition, if we cannot detect the outer control type, [we assume it's just an unwrapped value, and automatically wrap it in `FormControl`](https://github.com/angular/angular/blob/14.0.0/packages/forms/src/form_builder.ts#L66).
Because the optional `{address?: FormControl<string|null>}` implicitly makes the RHS have type `FormControl<string|null>|undefined`, [the relevant condition is not satisfied](https://github.com/angular/angular/blob/14.0.0/packages/forms/src/form_builder.ts#L55). In particular, the condition expects just `FormGroup<T>`, not `FormGroup<T>|undefined`. So we assume `T` is a value type, and it gets wrapped with `FormControl`.
The solution is to add the cases where `undefined` is included in the union type when detecting which control `T` is (if any).

split the single RuntimeError utils test testing about the correct
formatting of errors in multiple separate unit tests (for better
granularity and clearness)
PR Close#46239
the formatted error messages always include a period separator between the
provided error message and the find-more suffix, this is not always
desirable as it may add periods when they shoud not be, so improve the
formatting by checking and applying the period only if the provided message
doesn't end with a character which already represents a separator
additionally also improve the formatting by trimming the provided error
message
note that such trimming needs to be performed before the separator check
so that for example an error message like `"some error! "` doesn't produce
`"some error! ."` but it successfully produces "some error!"

Makes the following improvements in the runtime:
* Uses the unique ID of the component definition to keep track of its injector in the `StandaloneFeature`, instead of the definition itself. This reduces the amount of memory we can leak, if something doesn't get cleaned up.
* Changes the naming and description of the `ComponentDef.id` to reflect what it is used for.

PR Close#46166
Angular generally supports cycles between components in the same NgModule.
We have a mechanism of moving the component scope declaration into the
NgModule file in this case. This ensures that Angular never itself
introduces an import which creates a cycle.
What happens if the cycle already exists in the user's program, though, is a
bit different. In these cases, the "correct" emit for Angular is to generate
the component scope (whether direct or remote) inside of a closure, to
prevent evaluating the scope's references until module evaluation is
complete and all cyclic imports have been resolved. We don't want to do this
for *all* scopes because the code size cost of emitting a function wrapper
is non-zero.
In this fix, we take the presence of a `forwardRef` in a component's
`imports` or in an NgModule `declarations` or `imports` as a sign that
component scopes emitted into those files need to be protected against
cyclic references. In a future commit, we may introduce a warning or error
if cyclic imports are not protected behind `forwardRef` in these cases, but
this will take some time to implement.
