Previously, `RouterLinkActive` would only add or remove the active classes when
its active state changed. This means that if you accidentally add one of
the active classes to the static class attribute, it won't get removed
until the link becomes active and then deactives (because the class is
added at creation time and never removed until the `RouterLinkActive`
state changes from active to inactive).

This commit ensures components in the route config predictably always
get their providers from the hierarchy available to routes rather than
sometimes being dependent on where they are inserted.
fixes#53369
BREAKING CHANGE: Providers available to the routed components always
come from the injector heirarchy of the routes and never inherit from
the `RouterOutlet`. This means that providers available only to the
component that defines the `RouterOutlet` will no longer be available to
route components in any circumstances. This was already the case
whenever routes defined providers, either through lazy loading an
`NgModule` or through explicit `providers` on the route config.

This is a follow up to https://github.com/angular/angular/commit/5c1d4410298e20cb03d7a1ddf7931538b6a181b4
which added the `info` property to navigation requests. `RouterLink` now
supports passing that transient navigation info to the navigation
request.
This info object can be anything and doesn't have to be serializable.
One use-case might be for passing the element that was clicked. This
might be useful for something like view transitions. In the "animating
with javascript" example from the blog (https://stackblitz.com/edit/stackblitz-starters-cklnkm)
those links could have done this instead of needing to create a separate
directive that tracks clicks.

According to the HTML specification most attributes are defined as strings, however some can be interpreted as different types like booleans or numbers. [In the HTML standard](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/common-microsyntaxes.html#boolean-attributes), boolean attributes are considered `true` if they are present on a DOM node and `false` if they are omitted. Common examples of boolean attributes are `disabled` on interactive elements like `<button>` or `checked` on `<input type="checkbox">`. Another example of an attribute that is defined as a string, but interpreted as a different type is the `value` attribute of `<input type="number">` which logs a warning and ignores the value if it can't be parsed as a number.
Historically, authoring Angular inputs that match the native behavior in a type-safe way has been difficult for developers, because Angular interprets all static attributes as strings. While some recent TypeScript versions made this easier by allowing setters and getters to have different types, supporting this pattern still requires a lot of boilerplate and additional properties to be declared. For example, currently developers have to write something like this to have a `disabled` input that behaves like the native one:
```typescript
import {Directive, Input} from '@angular/core';
@Directive({selector: 'mat-checkbox'})
export class MatCheckbox {
@Input()
get disabled() {
return this._disabled;
}
set disabled(value: any) {
this._disabled = typeof value === 'boolean' ? value : (value != null && value !== 'false');
}
private _disabled = false;
}
```
This feature aims to address the issue by introducing a `transform` property on inputs. If an input has a `transform` function, any values set through the template will be passed through the function before being assigned to the directive instance. The example from above can be rewritten to the following:
```typescript
import {Directive, Input, booleanAttribute} from '@angular/core';
@Directive({selector: 'mat-checkbox'})
export class MatCheckbox {
@Input({transform: booleanAttribute}) disabled: boolean = false;
}
```
These changes also add the `booleanAttribute` and `numberAttribute` utilities to `@angular/core` since they're common enough to be useful for most projects.

`RouterOutlet` components can initialize _during_ change detection (for
example, if they exist in an embedded view). When this happens, data
from the router should be bound immediately to the routed components
rather than not being available until the next round of change
detection. This is mostly just a problem for testing because change
detection is triggered manually. It would be surprising to have to
detect changes _twice_ on the fixture in order to get data bound to the
routed component.

BREAKING CHANGE:
`ComponentFactoryResolver` has been removed from Router APIs.
Component factories are not required to create an instance of a component
dynamically. Passing a factory resolver via resolver argument is no longer needed
and code can instead use `ViewContainerRef.createComponent` without the
factory resolver.

This commit updates the `RouterLink` to extend the selector to also include `<a>` and `<area>` elements, which were previously matched by the `RouterLinkWithHref` directive. The code of the directives was merged together (since there was a lot of duplication) and this commit finalizes the merge. The `RouterLinkWithHref` becomes an alias of the `RouterLink` directive.
Now there is no need to import and use the `RouterLinkWithHref` class, the `RouterLink` directive will match any element that has the `routerLink` attribute.
DEPRECATED:
The `RouterLinkWithHref` directive is deprecated, use the `RouterLink` directive instead. The `RouterLink` contains the code from the `RouterLinkWithHref` to handle elements with `href` attributes.

PR Close#47619
This commit updates the 'name' of `RouterOutlet` to be an `Input` rather
than an attribute. Note that this change does not affect `[attr.name]=`
because those already would not have worked. The static name was only
read in the constructor and if it wasn't available, it would use
'PRIMARY' instead.
fixes#12522
BREAKING CHANGE: Previously, the `RouterOutlet` would immediately
instantiate the component being activated during navigation. Now the
component is not instantiated until the change detection runs. This
could affect tests which do not trigger change detection after a router
navigation. In rarer cases, this can affect production code that relies
on the exact timing of component availability.
PR Close#46569
This commit updates the `RouterLink` directive to use a renderer to apply an `href` attribute value. Previously, the `RouterLinkWithHref` used a host binding for this and that prevented further merge of the `RouterLink` and `RouterLinkWithHref` directives.
PR Close#47605
Currently, the `RouterLink` and `RouterLinkWithHref` classes share a lot of common code (with some special logic around handling `<a>`-related scenarios). This commit unifies the logic of the mentioned directives by moving the necessary handling to the `RouterLink` directive and making it a parent one for the `RouterLinkWithHref` class (i.e. class RouterLinkWithHref extends RouterLink).
This is the first step in upcoming unification to merge both directives and just keep `RouterLink` one (it'd be done in followup PRs).

Similarly to the symmetry being strengthened between children and loadChildren,
a new loadComponent property will be introduced as the asynchronous version of component.
This will allow for direct single-component lazy loading:
```
{path: 'lazy/a', loadComponent:
() => import('./lazy/a.component').then(m => m.ACmp)},
{path: 'lazy/b', loadComponent:
() => import('./lazy/b.component').then(m => m.BCmp)},
```
This option requires that the component being loaded is standalone and
is implemented as a runtime check.
Other notes:
* Components are not loaded until all guards and resolvers complete.
* Loading the component is included in the function passed to the router
preloading strategy
* `RouteConfigLoadStart` and `RouteConfigLoadEnd` events emit at the
start and end of the component loading
* `CanLoad` guards _do not_ apply to `loadComponent`. `canActivate`
should be used instead, just like you would do if it were simply
`component` instead.

DEPRECATED:
The `resolver` argument of the `RouterOutletContract.activateWith` function and the `resolver` field of the `OutletContext` class are deprecated. Passing component factory resolvers are no longer needed. The `ComponentFactoryResolver`-related symbols were deprecated in `@angular/core` package since v13.
PR Close#45597
The current API for `activateWith` uses the deprecated
`ComponentFactoryResolver`. The replacement for this is to use
`EnvironmentInjector`. That is, instead of
```
const factory = componentFactoryResolver.resolveComponentFactory(component);
location.createComponent(factory, location.length, injector);
```
the replacement would be
```
location.createComponent(
component, {index: location.length, injector, environmentInjector});
```

Currently, the only way to specify new providers for a `Route` and the
children is to create a new `NgModule` with those providers and use the
`loadChildren` feature. This is pretty confusing and a wholly indirect
way of accomplishing this task. With this commit, developers will be
able to specify a list of providers directly on the `Route` itself.
These providers will apply the that route and its children.
This feature was inspired by the upcoming standalone components feature.
This ties in there because, as mentioned before, the prior art for lazy
loading configs was to load an `NgModule`. This loaded module contained
new route configs _and_ could specify new providers. Separating those
two concepts, there should be a way to load _just_ some new routes, but
there should also be a way to specify new providers as well (something
you could do in the `NgModule` world and now will be able to do in the
world without any `NgModule` through this feature).

The current behavior of `routerLink` for `null` and `undefined` inputs is to treat
the input the same as `[]`. This creates several unresolvable issues with
correctly disabling the links because `commands = []` does _not_ behave the same
as disabling a link. Instead, it navigates to the current page, but will also
clear any fragment and/or query params.
The new behavior of the `routerLink` input will be to completely disable navigation
for `null` and `undefined` inputs. For HTML Anchor elements, this will also mean
removing the `href` attribute.
Fixes#21457Fixes#13980Fixes#31154
BREAKING CHANGE:
Previously `null` and `undefined` inputs for `routerLink` were
equaivalent to empty string and there was no way to disable the link's
navigation.
In addition, the `href` is changed from a property `HostBinding()` to an
attribute binding (`HostBinding('attr.href')`). The effect of this
change is that `DebugElement.properties['href']` will now return the
`href` value returned by the native element which will be the full URL
rather than the internal value of the `RouterLink` `href` property.

PR Close#40303
This PR formalizes, documents, and makes public the router outlet contract.
The set of `RouterOutlet` methods used by the `Router` has not changed
in over 4 years, since the introduction of route reuse strategies.
Creation of custom router outlets is already possible and is used by the
Ionic framework
(https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-framework/blob/master/angular/src/directives/navigation/ion-router-outlet.ts).
There is a small "hack" that is needed to make this work, which is that
outlets must register with `ChildrenOutletContexts`, but it currently
only accepts our `RouterOutlet`.
By exposing the interface the `Router` uses to activate and deactivate
routes through outlets, we allow for developers to more easily and safely
extend the `Router` and have fine-tuned control over navigation and component
activation that fits project requirements.
PR Close#40827
Allow configuration of `relativeTo` in the `routerLink` directive. This
is related to the clearing of auxiliary routes, where you need to use
`relativeTo: route.parent` in order to clear it from the activated
auxiliary component itself. This is because `relativeTo: route` will
consume the segment that we're trying to clear, so there is really no
way to do this with routerLink at the moment.
