When passing bindings as arguments or storing them before use in
`createComponent`, it's handy to be able to reference this type.
The current workaround is to use `ReturnType<typeof inputBinding>`.

BREAKING CHANGE:
This commit deprecates `ng-reflect-*` attributes and updates the runtime to stop producing them by default. Please refactor application and test code to avoid relying on `ng-reflect-*` attributes.
To enable a more seamless upgrade to v20, we've added the `provideNgReflectAttributes()` function (can be imported from the `@angular/core` package), which enables the mode in which Angular would be producing those attribites (in dev mode only). You can add the `provideNgReflectAttributes()` function to the list of providers within the bootstrap call.

PR Close#60748
This commit adds a provider that installs listeners on the browser
window to forward unhandled promise rejections and uncaught errors to
the `ErrorHandler`. This is useful for both ZoneJS and Zoneless
applications. For apps using ZoneJS, errors can reach the window when
they happen outside the Angular Zone. For Zoneless apps, any errors not
explicitly caught by the framework can reach the window. Without this
provider, these errors would otherwise not be reported to
`ErrorHandler`.
We will/should consider adding this provider to apps by default in the
cli. In addition, it should be mentioned in the (to be created)
documentation page on error handling in Angular.

PR Close#60663
Builds on the changes from #60137 to add support for two-way bindings on dynamically-created components. Example usage:
```typescript
import {createComponent, signal, twoWayBinding} from '@angular/core';
const value = signal('');
createComponent(MyCheckbox, {
bindings: [
twoWayBinding('value', value),
],
});
```
In the example above the value of `MyCheckbox` and the `value` signal will be kept in sync.
PR Close#60342
Adds the new `outputBinding` function that allows users to listen to outputs on dynamically-created components in a similar way to templates. For example, here we create an instance of `MyCheckbox` and listen to its `onChange` event:
```ts
interface CheckboxChange {
value: string;
}
createComponent(MyCheckbox, {
bindings: [
outputBinding<CheckboxChange>('onChange', event => console.log(event.value))
],
});
```
Note that while it has always been possible to listen to events like this by getting a hold of of the instance and subscribing to it, there are a few key differences:
1. `outputBinding` behaves in the same way as if the event was bound in a template which comes with some behaviors like forwarding errors to the `ErrorHandler` and marking the view as dirty.
2. With `outputBinding` the listeners will be cleaned up automatically when the component is destroyed.
3. `outputBinding` accounts for host directive outputs by binding to them through the host. E.g. if the `onChange` event above was coming from a host directive, `outputBinding` would bind to it automatically.
Currently `outputBinding` is available only in `createComponent`, `ViewContainerRef.createComponent` and `ComponentFactory.create`, but it will serve as a base for APIs in the future.

Implement a new experimental API, called `resource()`. Resources are
asynchronous dependencies that are managed and delivered through the signal
graph. Resources are defined by their reactive request function and their
asynchronous loader, which retrieves the value of the resource for a given
request value. For example, a "current user" resource may retrieve data for
the current user, where the request function derives the API call to make
from a signal of the current user id.
Resources are represented by the `Resource<T>` type, which includes signals
for the resource's current value as well as its state. `WritableResource<T>`
extends that type to allow for local mutations of the resource through its
`value` signal (which is therefore two-way bindable).

PR Close#57533
The `afterRender` infrastructure was first implemented around the idea of
independent, singular hooks. It was later updated to support a spec of
multiple hooks that pass values from one to another as they execute, but the
implementation still worked in terms of singular hooks under the hood. This
creates a number of maintenance issues, and a few bugs. For example, when
one hook fails, further hooks in the pipeline should no longer execute, but
this was hard to ensure under the old design.
This refactoring restructures `afterRender` infrastructure significantly to
introduce the concept of a "sequence", a collection of hooks of different
phases that execute together. Overall, the implementation is simplified
while making it more resilient to issues and future use cases, such as the
upcoming `afterRenderEffect`.
As part of this refactoring, the `internalAfterNextRender` concept is
removed, as well as the unused `queueStateUpdate` concept which used it.
PR Close#57453
Adds back the ability to set the phase of an `afterRender` /
`afterNextRender` callback using the `phase` option. However, this API
is now deprecated, and the phase should instead be specified by passing
a spec object rather than a callback function.
PR Close#55648
Previously `afterRender` and `afterNextRender` allowed the user to pass
a phase to run the callback in as part of the `AfterRenderOptions`. This
worked, but made it cumbersome to coordinate work between phases.
```ts
let size: DOMRect|null = null;
afterRender(() => {
size = nativeEl.getBoundingClientRect();
}, {phase: AfterRenderPhase.EarlyRead});
afterRender(() => {
otherNativeEl.style.width = size!.width + 'px';
}, {phase: AfterRenderPhase.Write});
```
This PR replaces the old phases API with a new one that allows passing a
callback per phase in a single `afterRender` / `afterNextRender` call.
The return value of each phase's callback is passed to the subsequent
callbacks that were part of that `afterRender` call.
```ts
afterRender({
earlyRead: () => nativeEl.getBoundingClientRect(),
write: (rect) => {
otherNativeEl.style.width = rect.width + 'px';
}
});
```
This API also retains the ability to pass a single callback, which will
be run in the `mixedReadWrite` phase.
```ts
afterRender(() => {
// read some stuff ...
// write some stuff ...
});
```

This commit adds a feature that is useful for determining if an
application is zoneless-ready. The way this works is generally only
useful right now when zoneless is enabled. Some version of this may be useful in
the future as a general configuration option to change detection to make
`checkNoChanges` pass always exhaustive as an opt-in to address #45612.
Because this is an experimental, debug-only feature, it is okay to merge
during the RC period.

Closes#53381
PR Close#55487
Adds support for model inputs in the framework. `model()` returns a writable signal that implicitly defines a input/output pair that can be used either in two-way bindings to keep two values in sync or by binding individually to the input and output. When the value of the `model` changes, it will emit an event with the current value.
Furthermore, these changes expand two-way bindings to accept `WritableSignal`. This will make it easier to transition existing code to signals in a backwards-compatible way.
Example:
```ts
@Directive({
selector: 'counter',
standalone: true,
host: {
'(click)': 'increment()',
}
})
export class Counter {
value = model(0);
increment(): void {
this.value.update(current => current + 1);
}
}
@Component({
template: `<counter [(value)]="count"/> The current count is: {{count()}}`,
})
class App {
count = signal(0);
}
```
PR Close#54252
Enables signal inputs for existing Zone based components.
This is a next step we are taking to bring signal inputs earlier to the Angular community.
The goal is to enable early access for the ecosystem to signal inputs, while we are continuing
development of full signal components as outlined in the RFC. This will allow the ecosystem
to start integrating signals more deeply, prepare for future migrations, and improves code quality
and DX for existing components (especially for OnPush).
Based on our work on full signal components, we've gathered more information and learned
new things. We've improved the API by introducing a way to intuitively declare required inputs,
as well as improved the API around initial values. We even support non-primitive initial values
as the first argument to the `input` function now.
```ts
@Directive({..})
export class MyDir {
firstName = input<string>(); // string|undefined
lastName = input.required<string>(); // string
age = input(0); // number
```
PR Close#53872
In order to provide a reasonable experience for Angular without Zones,
we need a mechanism to run change detection when we receive a change
notification. There are several existing APIs today that serve as the
change notification: `ChangeDetectorRef.markForCheck`, signal updates,
event listeners (since they mark the view dirty), and attaching a view to
either the `ApplicationRef` or `ChangeDetectorRef`. These operations
are now paired with a notification to the change detection scheduler.
The concrete implementation for this scheduler is still being designed.
However, this gives us a starting point to partner with teams to
experiment with what that might look like.
PR Close#53499
This commit introduces a function for declaring inputs in
components. The function is called `input`. It comes in two flavors:
- `input` for optional inputs with initial values
- `input.required` for required inputs
Inputs are declared as class members, like with `@Input`- except that
the class field will no longer hold the input value directly. Angular
takes control over the input field and exposes the input value as a
signal. The runtime implementation will follow in future commits.
This commit simply introduces:
- initial compiler detection to recognize such inputs in classes
- the initial signature of `input` and `input.required`.
Note: the defer size test is flawed and there is no minification- hence
this commit also needs to incorporate the new dependency graph changes.
PR Close#53521
This separates application and platform code into even more files. This now removes

PR Close#53371
According to the HTML specification most attributes are defined as strings, however some can be interpreted as different types like booleans or numbers. [In the HTML standard](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/common-microsyntaxes.html#boolean-attributes), boolean attributes are considered `true` if they are present on a DOM node and `false` if they are omitted. Common examples of boolean attributes are `disabled` on interactive elements like `<button>` or `checked` on `<input type="checkbox">`. Another example of an attribute that is defined as a string, but interpreted as a different type is the `value` attribute of `<input type="number">` which logs a warning and ignores the value if it can't be parsed as a number.
Historically, authoring Angular inputs that match the native behavior in a type-safe way has been difficult for developers, because Angular interprets all static attributes as strings. While some recent TypeScript versions made this easier by allowing setters and getters to have different types, supporting this pattern still requires a lot of boilerplate and additional properties to be declared. For example, currently developers have to write something like this to have a `disabled` input that behaves like the native one:
```typescript
import {Directive, Input} from '@angular/core';
@Directive({selector: 'mat-checkbox'})
export class MatCheckbox {
@Input()
get disabled() {
return this._disabled;
}
set disabled(value: any) {
this._disabled = typeof value === 'boolean' ? value : (value != null && value !== 'false');
}
private _disabled = false;
}
```
This feature aims to address the issue by introducing a `transform` property on inputs. If an input has a `transform` function, any values set through the template will be passed through the function before being assigned to the directive instance. The example from above can be rewritten to the following:
```typescript
import {Directive, Input, booleanAttribute} from '@angular/core';
@Directive({selector: 'mat-checkbox'})
export class MatCheckbox {
@Input({transform: booleanAttribute}) disabled: boolean = false;
}
```
These changes also add the `booleanAttribute` and `numberAttribute` utilities to `@angular/core` since they're common enough to be useful for most projects.

PR Close#50420
This commit adds a provider function that allows developers to configure
the `NgZone` instance for the application. In the future, this provider
will be used for applications to specifically opt-in to change detection
powered by ZoneJS rather than it being provided by default.
This API does _not_ specifically provide support for developers to define their own
`NgZone` implementation or opt in to `NoopNgZone` directly. Both of
these are possible today, but are effectively unsupported (applications
that use these are left to their own devices to run change detection at
the appropriate times). That said, developers can still use DI in
`bootstrapApplication` to provide an `NgZone` implementation instead,
it's just not specifically available in the
`provideZoneChangeDetection` function.

PR Close#49563
Angular uses inline styles to insert the styles associated with a component. This violates the strict styles [Content Security Policy](https://web.dev/strict-csp/) which doesn't allow inline styles by default. One way to allow the styles to be applied is to set a `nonce` attribute on them, but because the code for inserting the stylesheets is deep inside the framework, users weren't able to provide it without accessing private APIs.
These changes add a new `CSP_NONCE` injection token that will allow users to provide a nonce, if their app is using CSP. If the token isn't provided, the framework will look for an `ngCspNonce` attribute on the app's root node instead. The latter approach is provided as a convenience for apps that render the `index.html` through a server, e.g. `<app ngCspNonce="{% randomNonceAddedByTheServer %}"></app>`.
This PR addresses adding the nonce to framework-generated styles. There will be follow-up PRs that add support for it in critical CSS tags in the CLI, and in Angular Material.

PR Close#49253
This commit moves the `APP_BOOTSTRAP_LISTENER` token into the `application_ref.ts` to avoid a risk of circular dependencies. The main problem is that the token refers to the `ComponentRef`, which in turn refers to more symbols, thus making the `application_tokens.ts` file susceptible to circular dependencies. Such a dependency was identified in https://github.com/angular/angular/pull/49271.
